Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. It is hard to take apart without breaking it! It is held together with all plastic clips and they break! But you can by putting a putty knife in the inside door seam all the way around and pry the clips down to pop the door apart.

Hello. I just received a new Glass Touch ASM (WB27T10875) for my GE stove. My previous one cracked and needed to be replaced. Problem: While installing/ connecting the ASM to the stove, once I connect the...

Funniest thing. I was having the very same problem on Monday. Every time I laid the glass touch panel down on the stove, it stopped working but worked when I held it up. After failing to install the panel so it would work for 30 minutes, I walked away from it and ate dinner. Coming back later, I decided my problem was the connections on the back side were coming into contact with the metal so I placed a tightening knob in the center of each of the outside holes making sure the underside of the knob went exactly into the middle of the hole. I then lowered the left side of the panel down to where the threads started and very carefully partially tightened the left knob so none of the panel back touched the stove. I then lowered the right side until the knob touched the knob and tightened that side finger tight. I keep testing the buttons to make sure they were still working. When the out side knobs were finger tight, I finger tightened the 2 inside knobs. Success. My oven is now working.

How do I increase the intensity of the green in the display on my Sharp Carousel R-1460A microwave oven?

This model does not have a brightness adjustment for the VFD display.

It may be a weak VFD tube due to aging or it may be that the rear of the display window and front of the display glass are very dusty.

Sometimes you can clean it inside to brighten it up.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you can detach the keypad connector (as per attached photo) then remove the control panel screws.

Be careful not to crack the glass display when handling it, or it's a goner.

Then you can use a soft cloth (not a paper towel) and a mild cleaner (not ammonia-based) to clean the front surface of the VFD display glass and the rear side of the clear bezel (display window) that's attached to the keypad.

Some connectors have a lock.

positivelock.jpgIf that cleaning didn't help, then you have a weak VFD.

We can replace yours for $74.95. Details are here.

Whirlpool 6mt 42 microwave oven digital display

It's probably a weak VFD tube but it may be that the rear of the display window and front of the display glass are very dusty.

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that you spray non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth (not a paper towel which can scratch) and gently wipe the keypad.

On a Whirlpool microwave, the VFD tube is almost never available separately, so if it's bad, you would have to replace the entire circuit board.

Locked keyboard on a 1540tw

I guess your model number is GMV1540TW?

I think I answered this or a duplicate post already, but here goes:

The owner's manual covers that, but if for some reason you don't have yours, you can get it here.

To set child lock:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.
2. Touch and hold START more than 4 seconds.
"LOCKED" will appear in the display window with two beeps.

To cancel child lock:

1. Touch and hold START more than 4 seconds.
"LOCKED" will disappear in the display window with two beeps.

How do I clean the oven in the Advantium 120

We have the same oven and we use glass cleaner and soft scrub cleanser. If the glass on the top of the oven (where the cooking light is located) is really dirty from splatter, you can use a razor blade scrapper. This is the same type of scraper you would use to clean paint of a window. Our Advantium actually came with a scraper from the factory.

PLMVZ169HCA Turntable slips on the glass plate

hmmm? me's thinking about this one!!!!
the glass plate has drive dogs on the bottom of it, that fit into drive dogs on the turn table, if its not meshed up right it just spins freely and normaly throw's the glass plat off??? are the bearing that are under the glass plate turning freely? thats the big ring that the plate rides on near the out side edge of the plate, and can be taken out for cleaning??? it looks like a hoop with 3 or 4 rollers in it??? if you forgot to put this bit back in the right way up after cleaning it thats the problem???
