Iam not able to get a picture from my hdmi cable, but can still here sound. tried three different hdmi cables... please can you help...
1. Your Connections Are Faulty
Quite often, the
cause of the no picture problem is a simple one - loose cords. Make
sure that the cords are plugged in tightly, both on the TV side and the
PS3 side. This is especially true with the HDMI cable connection on the
PS3. Often, it looks tight, but you still might need to wiggle it a bit
more to seat it correctly. Along the same lines, make sure that the
cords you are using are new and match the connections properly on both
the TV and your console.
2. Wrong Connection Settings
If
you are using the HDMI/DVI cables and you don't get any picture, make
sure to check your video ouput settings. If your PS3 thinks you are
using standard A/V cords to connect to the set, you'll have issues. The
opposite is true too - if you are using the A/V cords and your PS3
thinks otherwise, you'll have the same no picture problem. Make sure
you settings match the types of cable connectors you are using.
3. Wrong Resolution Setting
This
is also an easy mistake to make that can result in no picture showing
on your television screen. For example, if you've been using your PS3
with an HDTV and then try to hook it up to a standard definition
television set, you'll encounter this issue. The cure is simple; just
go into your settings and switch back to standard resolution and then
restart your system. The 720p resolution is the default setting and
this should work for most standard definition televisions.
