OPC Drum Error

Printer gave me an error to replace opc drum. Bought a fuse to replace on the drum (suppose to reset it) and I still have an error. Has anyone had this problem and can it be reset (opc drum counter)?
Thanks in advance for any reply

Thanks for the replies, I finally got it fixed. It was working great, but I messed with the yellow ink (roller had smudge) and now it tells me ink is out. It is new ink, so I know that is not correct.

Replacing the fuse is only half the job. You also need to empty all the spent toner out of the drum as well. I actually drilled a 1/4 inch hole, poured out all the purple toner, and covered the hole with an old 5 1/4 floppy write protect tab. Any good piece of heat resistant tape should do. Then replace the fuse. Make sure that the contacts the fuse rests on are clean as well.

What is (SVC E9 Error)

Hi there

The error indicated on the 8008, ‘SVC E9’ indicates the printer is not detecting the OPC belt as rotating in the printer. The printer ‘looks’ for two black squires on the left side of the OPC Belt (as viewed from the front of the printer) if the printer does not ‘see’ black squires the printer indicates the SVC E9 error.

If the printer is displaying the SVC E9 error the most likely cause is something to do with the OPC Belt, normally removing the OPC belt from the printer then re-seating the belt would resolve the problem in most cases, as the OPC belt may not be locating correctly in the printer.
Unfortunately you have already removed the OPC Belt from the printer without resolving the problem, it may however be worth removing the OPC belt again and to look at the green reflective surface to see if there any damage or if the green surface is fairly central and is no skewed or bent in any way.

Depending on which position the OPC belt stops in you may see the black squares down the left side of the belt, if you can see these and they don’t look damaged or scratched the printer should detect the OPC belt ok, so the problem may lie with the sensor on the printer its self.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Tally t80063 service error 9

The SVC E9 error on the 8008 indicates a 'Belt Marker' error.
Basicaly the printer is not detecting the OPC belt rotating.
Check the OPC is not damaged, in particular check the left side of the OPC there should be a black squair that trips the light sensor which detects the OPC belt rotating. Check there is no damage here.

Locate the belt mamarker sensor, and clean it, this is on th left side of the pritner towards the top near the drum cleaner I think. It reflects of the left side of the OPC belt.

Check the OPC belt is turning, there could be a motor / drive problem.

OPC Belt needs replacing

Try pressing 1 and 7 at the same time
The LCD will show "OPC belt 1. Reset 2. Exit
Select 1 to reset the life counter.

This is supposed to be done when replacing the drum unit...but I've found that I can get 1.5 to 2 lifespans from a single unit.
