This is NOT an easy question to answer. You need service manual & parts list for an E-2 to be sure you remove the components in the correct order. Check with www.micro-tools.com to see if they have service documentation on their website. They have purchased all remaining projector parts from Kodak, so if you need parts, they are a great resource. Sorry I can't help more! Best of Luck !

Fix remote focus on ektagraphic projector

The problem you describe on your Ektagraphic ATS could be caused by a couple of things:
1> You have the incorrect remote. You need the correct remote for the remote focus over-ride to function. Just because the "Focus" button is on the remote, doesn't mean you have the correct remote control. The remote control could be broken, as well.
2> You could have a broken or mis-adjusted focus over-ride switch inside the projector. To rectify this you may need special tools and/or parts ( I'm not sure they are still available). To check this, contact: www.micro-tools.com
Micro-Tools may be able to provide you with instructions to make the repair, as well as the parts. Good Luck!! Jim

Kodak Ektagraphic AF-1 will not advance or reverse

If the select button functions correctly, Chances are the direction lever in the mechanism is bound up or the Direction Lever Spring is broken. If the Spring is broken or the Direction Lever is bound up, the Index Lever will go out straight when the Advance / Reverse buttons are pushed - instead of moving out straight , then moving forward or reverse at a 45 degree angle.
The Slide Change mechanism needs to be re-built. The bad news is this projector was manufactured from 1976 to 1984. Kodak scrapped the repair parts in the early 1990's. Your best bet is to find a repair shop that has a projector that they can salvage parts for your projector from.... Good Luck !!

Kodak Ektagraphic AF -2 carousal not rotating

Given the age of the projector, I suspect that the solenoid link is broken. The link joins the solenoid plunger to the cycle lever. The good news is you can still buy parts for your projector. www.micro-tools.com purchased the entire projector parts inventory from Kodak a few years ago. They can also help you with instructions to install the parts, or if you prefer, hook you up with a trained service technician to perform the repair for you. Good Luck! Jim

Just purchased a Kodak Ektagraphic AF1 & neither manual/auto focus or slide advance work. My other Kodak Ektagraphic AF had both auto & manual advance broken as well. Used it for many years. Was...

The model AF-1 did not have remote focus feature. It does have the Auto-Focus feature. The auto-focus adjustment is a pretty "fine-tune" adjustment that requires a factory alignment tool & a trained hand.
Your model AF is quite old, and probably requires replacement of the "link" that connects the slide change solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The problem is the plastic the "link" was made of gets brittle over the years and cracks, rendering slide change non-functional.
Both problems are easily remedied by a qualified repair dealer with the tools, training and parts.

I'm having trouble changing the bulb in a Kodak Ektagraphic AF-1 slide projector. The bulb doesn't fit easily into the housing and I don't want to force it.

First of all, verify you are using the correct lamp: it should be a 120volt, 300watt, ANSI Code "ELH" lamp. (This may seem too basic, but you'd be surprised at the number of people who try the incorrect lamp).
If the lamp is correct and you can not insert it by pushing the base of the lamp into the terminal connector relatively easily, then chances are you have a build-up of material on one or both of the lamp contacts caused by arcing (arcing is caused by loose lamp terminal contacts). If this is the case, then you need to replace the lamp terminal assembly (the ceramic-like white piece the lamp terminals should slide into). You should still be able to buy a lamp terminal assembly for your Ektagraphic AF-1 from: www.micro-tools.com
Good Luck !!

The KODAK Ektagraphic ATS uses a 82volt, 300 watt ANSI code "EXR" lamp. You can order "EXR" lamps from Bulbman (www.bulbman.com)

Does bulb need replacement?

I had same problem.
You have to load the slides so there is something to be projected.

Button worn and stuck

There are a series of molded plastic "hooks" on the top & bottom case running along the handle seam. Once you get the 6 bottom screws out, carefully (!) work a large flat-blade screwdriver between the case halves as it opens, working toward the handle. With careful application of pressure, the handle seam will pop apart. These hooks were only in the very first from production Carousel 4xxx & 5xxx and the Ektagraphic III series. Now you know why they were removed - - it's a pain to get the projector open !!!

Kodak Ektagraphic III AMT: turn on and it advances on its own without stopping

This is a "wear problem" called continuous cycle. Pretty common, actually. It requires an adjustment of the cycle contact wire. Unplug the projector, turn the projector upside down and remove the lamp module from the back. Remove the six T-15 TORX screws that hold the bottom cover in place. Gently pull (the power cord is secured to the inside of the bottom cover) the bottom cover off & lay it next to the projector. Near the center of the projector you will see the cycle wire and pad (refer to the attached pic). You will need to carefully(!) bend the "J"-shaped wire so that when the projector is "idling", the wire lays at the center of the pad. Bend a very little, plug it in and cycle it a couple of times. If it still continuous cycles, unplug & bend a little more. It usually takes 3 or 4 adjustments before you get it in the correct position. Good Luck !!
