Deleting I have a new Canon MP470 Pixma and I am not able to delete images, from my computer, after I have scanned them. I have followed the directions in the manual.

To scan an image in Windows Vista, do the following:
Go to Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > Select the File Tab and select Import from Camera or Scanner.
It's a bit slow starting...but it will scan for you.

If you are still experiencing problems then download the latest drivers from canon here for your printer/scanner:

Try opening the scan software on your computer and scanning from there

It won't scan unless it's connected to your computer and you have scanning software running. It needs to know how to scan, how to save and where to save the scanned image.

I also have a mp470. Try this before the driver download. Click Start, click all programs, select Canon utilities, select mp navigator, click on mp navigator again. On my pc this opens a window where I can select Scan/import from the platen or from a memory card. If this does not work here is a link to Canon to get your drivers. Note: turn off and uninstall your MP470 before installing the new drivers. Select your operating system from the list and select your desired drivers.

The Canon doesn't have a hard drive, it only stores images until they are printed and only in flash memory. There will be no personal information left on it if you discard, unless you have phone numbers stored in fax memory.

Issue: ERROR: Cannot communicate with scanner...

1. Connect the USB cable directly to a USB port on the computer 2. Press the ON/OFF button to power on the multifunction device 3. Uninstalling / reinstalling the MP470 drivers (Windows) 4. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to ensure a secure connection 5. Disconnect other device and reboot computer 6. Start the WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) Service or Stimon

Buy another scanner, just not CANON.

Canon Pixma MP470 Drivers

Hi,
Every all in one scan as image but they have softver conversion. It's separate program that you have to install and it is on your CD which came with printer. You can covert as txt, pdf, html exc..

My printer wont print. It flashes Error 5100 and the orange light flashes twice. There are no answers in the book.
