My DVD player works but my VCR player is not working. When I put the VHS tape into the machine, it is "playing" but there is not a picture. The DVD player works fine. Please help. I would like a phone # so I can talk to a person.

SOURCE: Gold Star VC681M - recording from VHS to DVD

This device can not record from VCR to DVD locally not a DVD recorder. However you can record from this device to your computer save the file as a wma and then burn that file to a DVD and then watch the DVD on the DVD player. This player can decode wma files: Here is a site to get the owners manual from: http://www.lge.com/support/manual.jsp Here is how the page looks:

Samsung DVD-V3650 Combo Player ejects most videotapes without playing them

You can only compensate for minor scratches. As for the vcr side the rollers could be dirty or the brake worn out. The tensioner may be too sensitive as well. Basically the mechanism probably needs servicing.

How to convert VCR to DVD

no easy way to do this unfortunately. You either need to connect your VCR to a DVD recorder and record it directly onto DVD or use a device such as this http://www.dx.com/p/easycap-usb-video-capture-adapter-5707 to connect your VCR to your computer and record it onto your computer that way.

Audio Problems playing VHS tapes with Denon AVR 1910

Did it EVER work as expected with VCR audio through the HDMI or are we working through that right now assuming it can?

I don't have a detailed manual, but the rear panel clearly shows some analog-only outputs (and NO digital ones) for the section called DVD/VCR. Internally, I'm sure there are proper analog-digital-converters for recording VHS to the native DVD-R, but VHS VCR's are NOT inherently digital audio devices so I'm pretty sure you need to run an analog RCA pair for the VHS video.

No picture when playing a VHS tape

Nothing has worked! Talked with a tech on the phone line and she said unit is bad. Everyone seems to have problems with this type of unit period so I am returning it and giving up. Even the responses from others have not proved effective. Lousy product!

On some of the DVD/VCR combo units, the VCR output is only available through the RF jack (channel 3), standard video1.gif (yellow) RCA jack and S-VIDEO jack. If you are using the Component jacks, the DVD side will work but the VCR will not. This is because the quality of video recorded on VHS tapes is so much lower than component quality video.

Try first to clean the video heads then if that dosent work take in the machine to have the heads professionally cleaned. God Luck
