There is a problem due to comm.drv which is located in system folder of Win.3.11. If the comm.drv is dated Nov.1. 1993 and is 5,968 bytes, please check the property of the comm.drv within your PC. Although the problem is due to the comm.drv, FUJI has prepared a new sdt-7 for Win.311. Please call Customer service at to obtain the sdt-7 or go to the ftp site and download sdt7w31v20.exe. It is important that your PC has Win 32s loaded before install your new sdt-7.

I have a Fuji DX-10 camera software does not work in my computer

This camera came out in 1999 before XP. It's not a very good camera by today's standards but if you really like it, you don't really need the software. It uses a memory card for storage and when it's full, you can insert the card into a separate card reader to download the pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Here's the one I use. It can read 32 different kinds of cards and is only $13 at Walmart. 813f262.jpg

Fuji Camera software

A current version of DirectX should install that file. Check for your version of DirectX by clicking on Start-Run, type dxdiag.exe, then click on OK. When the DirectX diagnostic page loads, you should be able to see the DirectX version you have installed. If you are not currently at DirectX 8.1 or higher, and because you have Windows 98 and an unknown video card, please download DX 8.1 from the link below: DirectX 8.1 Runtime for Windows 98 and Windows Me There is a newer version but there are no guarantees that your current video card will support it. It's supported in Windows 98, but older cards sometimes have issues. Here's that link: DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime Hope this helps.

I am still getting communication errors. Is my camera defective? (Fuji DS, DX and MX digital cameras only)

As long as the camera is taking pictures and playing back the pictures on its LCD, most of time the camera is OK. Serial communication port of Digital Camera is rarely damaged. If you are using Windows '95, there is a way of verifying the serial communication port. Following are the instructions: a. Open Control Panel from the Start/Settings menu. Double-click Accessibility options, then go to Mouse and activate mouse keys. This feature enables you to use the numeric keypad to move the mouse pointer. (For details please refer to the Help index of Windows 95) b. Turn off the PC and the Digital camera. Remove the Serial mouse from 9 pin connector, then connect Data transfer cable to the 9 pin connector and the other end of cable connect to the Digital camera. Turn ON the PC and the Digital camera. From this point the numeric keypad can be used for Mouse functions. Start the FUJI data transfer software, select COM 1 from the Communication ports within the "Communications Settings" item of the "Camera" Menu. c. Go to "Get images from Camera" of the "Camera" Menu. If you get a blank thumbnail, your Digital camera is communicating to the PC. To receive thumbnails of all pictures go to "Edit", go to "Select All", then click the 3rd Icon from the left. Progressive indicator shows "Receiving thumbnails". In this case the Camera is OK, and the problem is other than with the Digital camera.

I am getting communication errors. Error Message appears in the display "Your camera or PC is not ready." (Fuji DS, DX and MX digital cameras only)

Most of the time the problem is due to the serial port setting of your PC. Please follow instructions below. Cause Camera is not communicating to your PC. Remedy Please check the following. 1. Cable connection. 2. Camera is ON and in PC mode. 3. Camera's batteries are not exhausted. 4. Go to Communication setting from "Camera" and make sure proper COM port is selected. 5. If your PC has external input device, disable its driver such as "Hot Sync" or similar drivers. 6. If your PC supports PS2 mouse, please use it instead of serial mouse. Then one serial port is available for the Digital camera. 7. Check in the BIOS Setup Screen to make sure the serial port of the PC is not disabled. Also, if your personal computer is equipped with an internal modem or infrared port, it may cause conflicts with port assignments internally that will not allow communication with your camera and PC. In such case, it is necessary to change the COM port setting for serial port. For details, see the User's Manual for your personal computer, or ask at the store where you purchased your personal computer

Data Transfer Software (sd-t7) does not start. (Fuji models: DS-7, DX-5, DX-7, DX-9, DS-220, DS- 300 and DS-330)

Make sure you have more than 8 MB of memory allocated to sd-t7. This does not mean you only need 8 MB in your Mac. Use "Get info." Command to assign at least 8 MB for sd- t7.

Is my MX/DX/DS series digital camera compatible with Windows XP?

No, these cameras are not compatible with Windows XP. We recommend using a memory card reader such as the DPC-R1 to read directly from your camera's SmartMedia card.
