I would say that the belt is broken or has came off the pulley. If you turn the hand wheel, does the needle move up and down. If it moves up and down, your problem is the belt. Remove necessary covers to access the motor pulley. Inspect, repair or replace as necessary.

This site shows Organ and Schmetz needles but most quality needle brands would be suitable for your machine. A standard 130/705H needle will work. Just be careful as I believe my machine recommends no needles larger than a size 90.

Needle is stuck in down position and manually the wheel won't move

Try removing the bobbin case. Usually the thread is holding the needle in place, therefore the hand wheel will not operate. Once you get the thread released, it should all come free.

Why does my needle keep coming unthreaded

If it happens when you sew, it could mean that the needle is blunt, so try replacing it. also recheck how you are threading it, sometimes it doesn't quite go into the spring on the take up.

when you say bobbin switch do you mean that there is a switch to turn the bobbin on to start winding? or do you have to move the spindle that the bobbin goes on? It sounds like the disengage for the bobbin is stuck in place and won't let the machine run which would need a tech.

Simplicity so5 needle wont move

There is a device on the right side of the machine to make this work. It is either a knob to turn or a plate to push in. It is located on the right side of the machine in the wheel that turns when the machine is running. This is used to wind a bobbin. The needle doesn't run when the bobbin winder is being used,

Winding the bobbin - Simplicity Denim Start SW210

you have to move the lever so as to engage it to the wheel. Don't thread the thread all the way to the needle. only lead it around the top position. Disengage the small wheel on the right so that the needle doesn't go up and down.

Needle help

using a pair of needle nose pliers grasp the needle as far up as you can and pull down. Sometimes a slight twist will help.

Serger won't run

Check the needles and make sure the looper isn't stuck between the needles causing them to bind. Open the front cover and look at all the usual moving parts, Try to operate the unit by hand and carefully look at them to see if something is binding. If you have a digital camera take a picture of this area and post it if possible.
