Turn 1 on and other burners pop - Jenn-Air JGC8430 Gas Cooktop

I think the stock number is ccg2423w. As I turn on a burner other burners "turn on" their ignitors as well for different periods of time. There is no pattern to the problem. Please explain in detail how I may fix this problem. Cost of a service call is beyond my means at this time.

It is hard to understand. Is the sparl control unit INSIDE the cooktop bow or is it found inside the AC cox. I also need to know about wireing it up. Need more info

The burners pop whenever the gas is on

You didn't mention if it only pops when you first turn them on or that the popping is continuous.

If it when you first turn them on, then I would suspect late ignition. Too much gas build-up before ignition takes place. The spark gap may need to be adjusted or the spark module replaced.

If it happens continuously there may be a short in one of the switches or wiring harness.

When I push down and turn the knob to "on", the knob pops back up causing the burner to turn off. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank You

You might need to hold it down for a few seconds if the cook top has automatic flame detection. A bi metal strip (or some other form of thermostat) near the burner will need to heat up before the burner can lock on.

When you turn the burner on, it makes a popping noise and will not stop.

You're gas burner has an electronic ignition that you're hearing. Sometimes they can get gunked up and become sticky. If you have been using the stovetop regularly and this problem suddenly appeared, we can assume that the power grounding and polarity are correct. If this is all true, then an igniter or igniters are either wet or dirty. Unplug the electricity and thoroughly clean the burner pieces and specifically the igniters (little separate cylinder next to each burner) with a sponge or other non-abrasive dishrag and hot soapy water. Make sure all the burners and igniters are completley dry, plug unit back into electric outlet. If problem persists, call an authorized repair person as you may need 1 or more igniters replaced.
Good luck

Burners on JP326 electric not heating

Sounds like breaker tripped so no 220 to unit. Reset breaker. The burner switch you first turned on probably blew out and needs replacing, so don't turn it on again. If all else works ok, then that is it. Unless you are handy you may want to call the repair man.
