With some specific exceptions, PENTAX digital camera products are compatible with Windows 98 or later and MacOS 8.6 or later. If you use an operating system that is incompatible with your PENTAX digital camera, you may still be able to download your pictures. Since most of our digital products use a memory card such as Compactflash™, Secure Digital™, etc., you can obtain a reader (sold separately) for your memory card. Then, instead of connecting the camera to the computer, you can eject your memory card from the camera an insert it directly into your card reader. You simply will need to shop around for a card reader that is compatible with the operating system you use. Some computers have the capability of automatically recognizing PENTAX digital cameras, and some do not. Depending on what type of computer you have and the OS you work with, you may need to download the appropriate driver from the CD-ROM that accompanied your camera or download from the PENTAX web site. Driver firmware updates, and other information can be downloaded in our technical updates section. 5. How do I connect my PENTAX digital camera to my computer? PENTAX has prepared several special on-line "Getting Started" sections for each of its individual digital products. This information is available in our Learning Studio and they contain step-by-step instructions (complete with examples and visuals) to assist you in getting your digital camera up and running with your computer. Here you will learn the following: How do I install the drivers on my computer? How do I properly connect my camera to the computer? How do I install the other software programs that were included on the CD-ROM that came with my camera? How do I uninstall the drivers from my computer?

When I plug cable from camera to USB computer connection, nothing happens!

Not enough information. The transferring of files requires a sequence of functions to happen before the pictures will transfer to the computer. You will need the camera software installed on the computer. The camera sequence for transfer and each camera is different, some just need you to turn the camera on after connecting the USB cable while others require you press the "Playback" button to transfer files. Depending on the camera software installed on a computer they "normally" download to a file folder then the pictures can be opened in the software programing.

My Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W150 no longer displays older photos on my camera. It now only displays ones taken since 1/1/2011. When I check on the computer they are all there. I would like to delete some older...

If the old photos are not displaying in the Camera, the most common reason will be the default folder structure might have changed.
I understand that you're able to view the old photos in the Camera by connecting it to the Computer.
In that case, you can delete the unwanted photos from the Camera after connecting the Camera to the Computer.
I hope it will resolve the issue. If you're still not getting enough space in the Memory on the Camera, you may transfer the new required images to a folder in the Computer and then format the Memory of the Camera.
Once you format the Camera, the memory on the Camera free up and you can copy the required new images back to the DCIM folder in the Camera.
Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

Important notes
The computer communicates with cameras with photo softwares required installation. Photo software installed has to be compartible with the brand camera. Generic photo softwares installed on the computer can recognise any built-in cameras, camera connection attachements. Once, a photo software has been click opened, the features fucntionalities of capturing snap shots, editing, and saving are made possible from any available camera devcies. Built-in computer cameras have already installed softwares locatable on the menu programs task bars.

A separate camera used to acquire photos elswhere requires connections to the computer from which manipulations become possible. Any already existing photo media softwares would recognise to intergrate a camera connection. For the camera to function while connected to a computer would require the feature functions of an opened photo editing program.

Note 1
A computer built-in camera can perform on the network only by opening the photo windows software provided on the web. The internet web cam for example provides the opportunity to search and locate any cameras attached to the computer for network communications. Such an instance easily recognises the built-in computer camera. A separate camera would require connection compartibilities to the computer systems, and possibly the network type. A network that provides photo camera softwares incompartible to the cameras connected to the computer would require generic softwares installations for communcations to take place between camera, computer, and a network of computers.
