Emachines does not provide any factory restore option in computer, in fact you might have received factory restore disks when you bought it, which can be used to restore your computer Or you can check with emachines if they can provide you these disks
hope this helps

Factory restore

If your particular eMachines model didn't come with recovery media or you just misplaced the disc, you don't want to be caught without a means to restore the operating system.

It's all too easy to accidentally download a virus or experience any number of problems that make your computer unstable.

However, there is an option for restoring your computer without the original recovery disc by using the pre-installed recovery software.

Use an external memory device such as a DVD, flash drive or external hard drive to back up the data you need to save from your eMachines computer.

Any data that isn't saved to an external source will be erased when the computer is restored to factory settings.

Remove any discs that are in the optical drive and unplug the computer's peripheral devices, such as an Ethernet cable or scanner.

Do not disconnect the keyboard, mouse or monitor.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and choose "All Programs."

Navigate to "eMachines" and choose "eMachines Recovery Management." Click the "Restore" tab.

Click "Password Settings" if you have not already set a recovery password. Type a new password in the text box and click "OK." Click "Restore System to Factory Default."

Type the recovery password and click "OK." Click "Next" to wipe the eMachines computer's hard drive and begin the recovery process.

Select "Finish" and wait for the eMachines computer to restart.

Use the series of installation prompts that appear on the screen to create a new user account for your operating system, set the system date and time, and set up your internet settings.

hope this helps

I have emachines model W3650 and want to know how to set back to factory setting.

(1) Go to start menu(2) Click on all programs(3) click on Emachine(4) click on Emachine recovery management(5) Click on restore on the bar across the top(6) click on restore to system factory default
Some emachines can be restored by pressing ALT+F10, but not sure on your model. Give it a try if you can't restore it to factory defaults using Emachine recovery management.

Usually e-machine and other pc's have a factory restore setting set up in case of an error. You can; according to emachine tap the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time when the eMachines logo appears. Press "Enter" and follow the directions on the screen to recover the operating system back to factory condition. I hope that helps, if those keys don't work try F11 at the emachine logo. Good luck.

I was given an old Dell Precision 340 formatted with windows xp. i want to return the system to its original factory settings. I've tried to follow several different solutions to no avail. I was told...

If the previous owner ever formatted the disk, then they probably wiped out the hidden restore partion if one existed. This link will take to you to a restore disk ordering site. You can order the disks to restore to factory. $29.99
http://recovery-disks.com/dell/precision/dell-precision-workstation-340.html

OR you can go to Dell and find/order restore disks there..

Im trying to get my pc to go to its original settings factort restore

The only way to restore your computer to factory setting with all the software/bloatware as it came with your computer the first day you start it up, you will need the factory restore disk that came with the computer if one is provide, if not usually with e-machine product, which doesn't provide you with a factory restore disk, you will have to create one yourself using a dvd-r. Usually you will have to go the the emachine recovery/back up management option in your menu programs and use that program to make the factory restore disk, after making that disc, you will need to insert the disc, and shuit down the computer and restart it. It will prompt you to follow direction once the factory restore disk is boot up. Follow the directions and you should be good to go. If there isn't a recovery managment program or a factory restore disk provided, you will need to contact emachine up.... usually they can send you factory restore disk for a small fee.

don't hit ctrl f11 instead hit F8 and then go into Dell Factory Image Restore, that will wipe, format and reinstall all the factory software that's stored on the Recovery Drive.
