Yes. When displayed, an uncompressed (TIFF) digital image is clearer and higher quality than a compressed (JPEG) image. You should remember, however, that it takes longer to save an uncompressed image, which means that the recording interval between images is longer. Recording Interval with JPEG Format (Compressed):?2 seconds (3072 x 2304, Normal) Recording Interval with TIFF Format (Uncompressed):?65 seconds (3072 x 2304, TIFF) • In the TIFF Mode, you cannot record until the save operation of the previous shot is complete. • The above times are based on save operations using a Panasonic 64MB SD memory card. • The above times are approximate and for reference only. They are not guaranteed. • The actual time required to store images depends on shooting conditions and the memory card you are using.

Scanner Canon DR-9080C recently started scanning at a slower speed. All setting look to be the same compared to another unit. Any thoughts?
Do you have enough disk space? Try disk Defrag and create more space. Also check the Format you are saving, is it TIFF compressed or uncompressed? The uncompressed file size is really huge.

SCANS PAGE IN TOO LARGE
Uncompressed TIFF files are large in size. If you want Black & white and also small size save in TIFF G4 format. JPG files are small, but only color and grey files can be stored in JPG format.

images obtained from the Fuji FinePix Pro S1 digital camera that are saved as TIFF-YC (also called Tagged Image File Format YCbCr or Yb). TIFF files cannot be opened with any of the programs that are native to WinXP, other Microsoft imaging programs, or most third-party software. The TIFF-YC format is antiquated and you should avoid it. Instead, save images as JPEGs (Joint Photographic Experts Group) or some other format.

YOu shoUld save the file in another format.

TIFF
According to the manual, you cannot change the file type, as it only can save images in JPEG or RAW format.

You can, however save the images in RAW format, and convert them with the supplied software.

Camera slow
you must have changed the option to store the images in .tiff format so while storing in tiff format it compresses the image so it takes time for u ... so i suggest u to change that setting to .jpg uncompressed mode by doing this though it takes more space and allows u to store less photos in memory but it will fast while storing ...
in .tiff format as it compresses the image it takes time but the memory usage will be low this allows u to store more photos...

Saving photo files
The building blocks of your image library are the actual file formats in which you save your images. There are two major formats: compressed and uncompressed. • The advantage of uncompressed storage is that you can save a maximum amount of image-forming information for color fidelity and clarity. • Compressed file formats get rid of some information to shrink the file size (thereby increasing a disk's storage capacity). We recommend saving all your work-in-progress images (equivalent to the negatives in film cameras) as TIFF files. This way they will remain at maximum quality, so you can create other versions for printing or e-mailing, and can save them in smaller, compressed files like JPEGs. The advantage is that you'll always be able to recreate an effect or enhancement by starting with the original TIFF file without losing image integrity.

SQ1/SQ2: SQ1 is used for resolutions above 1600 x1200 and SQ2 is used for resolutions below 1600 x1200.
