I cannot connect to the WIFI at work, but I can connect to my WIFI network at home, and other public networks. The wireless network at work is pushed by a D-Link 8200AP with a WAP security, just like it is at home (except Netgear). At this point it is getting VERY frustrating not being able to use my laptop at work during meetings. I've read forums, blogs, and other useless ****...I need some expert advise. I've tried the $ before the password, I've tried the Hex coding, I've even tried crossing my fingers. Please Help!

Your laptop cannot connect to your work's wireless network because the security settings (ir WAP) in the D-Link is different to the security setting in your Netgear.
The wireless card in your laptop will need the settings changed to suit the D-Link's wireless settings ie the SSID and WAP.
You will need to change the wireless card settings in your laptop back to the Netgear's wireless settings to connect to your wireless network at home.
Some wireless cards allow you to set up different profiles for different wireless networks which allow you to switch wireless networks easily by just selecting the profile for the network you want to connect to.

Do you know how I would go about doing that? I have never had that problem with Windows 7 before, and I'm new to Mac (and still learning). So in Mac it keeps asking me something about a key chain? Do I just need to create a new "Network Place" and that will solve my problem?

Can you please set my acer laptop too my wireless in my home

Wireless router from tel company or cable company? New Router? Ask them to help. Otherwise check both owner's manuals, The security information in the wireless system must be "installed" in your laptop's wireless system. Once you do it it stays until there are changes made.

Why can I not connect to Wi Fi. I do not have a router

Where do you try to connect to WiFi ? At home ? If so, if you do not have a wireless router you cannot connect to WiFi. If you try to connect to Wifi away from home, you have to find an open/unlocked wireless network, usually in a public place (bookstore, coffee shop, etc.) and try to connect to it. The other alternative to get on the Internet is to use the mobile/cellular network of your carrier, but for that you need a data plan.

Hope this helps.

The DSI has the ability to connect to wireless networks. This means that if you are at home, or somewhere that offers Free Public Wifi, you can join that network and use the wireless on your Nintendo DSI. Otherwise, you will not be able to connect wirelessly to networks without their password.

I want to buy a wireless network adapter USB. I do not have internet home, but there is a public connection that is a couple hundred feet away from my house that is public because it is a cafe. Can anyone...

A couple of hundred feet away may be too far for a good signal receiption.
You can increase your signal with an aerial.
You may need to go into the cafe or park yourself nexr door to the cafe.
Use Google to see what is available on the Internet.
Here are a few WEB sites for you to look at.

Just purchased an I-Pad Touch and can't get connected to WI-FI because I have no password for the network 2WIRE625. Please help

I-Pad's work on any wifi signal and pick up both public and private networks. The network you are trying to access is locked by the user or network admin. You can connect it to your own home wireless network or go to a local mcdonald's or something and pick up a public network.

My netbook will not go online I have tried my home wi fi and 2 diffrent public wifi

Hi,
try to do the below troubleshooting :
1) Boot up your netbook. 2) Login to windows. wait until windows finish loading. 3) Make suer your WiFi is enable. Search for the button of keyboard shortcut like 'fn' + 'f2' (wifi symbol). 4) Search for wifi network nearby. 5) connect to one of them. 6) Usually, public enable wifi is using a DHCP setup. Go to you wifi adapter setup page and make sure it's already on DHCP mode. 7) You should be able to connect to the wifi network (public DHCP enable) by now. 8) If you still can't connect to the wifi, means its not a public DHCP enable network or you got a wifi adapter problem.
Good luck ;)

Can't connect to public wireless "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"

It sounds like you have a different wifi network with the same name as the public wireless network you are trying to access. I would open your wireless control panel (if you are using a 3rd party's product to manage your wifi, else use Windows' wifi manager) and delete any existing profiles with the same name as the public wireless network you are trying to connect to. Then try again. You may have to delete them in both the windows interface and a 3rd party interface before it will work.
