Windows movie maker is a notoriously glitchy application. Try moving the files off of your camera and onto a folder on your computer and then try to manually put them in windows movie maker instead of importing them directly from the camera. After you have manually copied the files to your hard drive, go to windows movie maker and click "add video from file." Then select your movie files and see if there is sound. Good luck!
Thanks but as it is DV tape I dont think this is possible
Tell me how please if it is?
Oh I'm sorry I was unaware you were using a DV camera. You're right, you can't transfer video from a DV camera without software. I would try using WinDV. It's freeware so you don't have to pay anything for it and no viruses either. You can download it here-http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_... Once you have downloaded/installed it, locate the new video files and import them to windows movie maker and see if it works. Sorry for the confusion!
Thanks heaps for the prompt response ( I am in NZ)
