What I think it is asking for is the credentials for your palm account, so as to sync it with the phone. This screen should be asking you to create a palm profile.
In order to do this, the phone will need data, so it must first be activated by Sprint.

How do you hard reset a palm pixi?

The only way I'm aware of to do any form of "Hard reset" with these phones is via their website, follow these instructions.
On your computer, go to palm.com/support
Enter your Palm profile email address and password.
Click Wipe Device to remotely reset your phone.
Afterr the full erase, turn on your phone and sign in to your existing Palm profile-do not create a new profile! Any data that has been backed up to your profile, including third-party applications, is restored to your phone. Information from online accounts you synchronize with-such as Google or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync-is restored to your phone also.

I plugged my palm pre plus from verizon in to charge all night and this morning it was still low battery. What should I do

You should use the WebOS doctor. It will do a clean reset of your phone. All of your applications that aren't homebrew will be restored when you sign in to your phone after resetting it.
If you have a Palm Pre Plus, use this link. http://palm.cdnetworks.net/rom/preplus/p145r0d09132010/ver1z0np145rod/webosdoctorp101ewwverizonwireless.jar Here are directions.

I forgot the screen lock code and now i can" unlock the screen< is there a way i can solve this problem easily

If you locked your screen and cannot remember your password or PIN to unlock the screen, you need to perform a full erase of your phone.
A full erase deletes all data stored on your phone, including third-party apps, pictures, downloaded music and videos, and documents stored on the USB drive. After the erase, you can restore any data that was backed up to your Palm profile, including sync account info (Google and/or Exchange) and third-party apps.
To reset your phone and restore data, do the following:
  1. From the Pin Incorrect or Wrong Password screen, press and hold Option hw_orange_icon_cass09.png + Sym + power and continue holding for 10 seconds after the Full Erase screen appears.
  2. After the phone reboots, sign in to your Palm profile to restore to your phone any data that was backed up to your profile.

Hello there, I bought my Palm Pre in Germany, sadly without the manual. I found out that I could not get it paired up with other phones and transfer music by Bluetooth. This is still the case five months...

    Hello, Natking04 -

It seems there is more than just one version of the Palm Pre. It would help to know what version yours is:
    - Palm Pre
    - Pre Plus
    - Pre 2
    - HP Pre

Hello, I am unable to open the MESSAGE icon on my PALM PRE phone. I have powered off, moved the icon thinking it might be a fault with the screen where the icon was placed. I can access everything...

It sounds like you may have a software error from your device. Chances are good a hard reset would resolve the issue. A hard reset is when you reset the device and restore it to factory settings. Note doing this will delete all data from your device, so it would be wise to back everything up first!
Also, since your Palm Pre has a feature called a Palm Profile, ENSURE with 100% certainty that you have the correct email address and password for your palm profile. This info will be very helpful and required to re-sync all your contact data to your device.
    Once you have backed up and are ready to hard reset your device;
    • Open Device Info
    • Phone Reset Options
    • Tap Partial Erase Partial Erase will not erase files on the "USB" storage of the device, which include your photos. It will remove applications you've installed and other files.

It will ask you to confirm your setting. It will then reboot your phone. Do not be alarmed if your phone sits at a pulsing PALM logo, this is normal and does take approximately 5 minutes.
Once it is powered back up, it will ask for your palm profile info (email and password) I mentioned early. This will begin the syncing of your contact data and some of your settings. This should fix the messaging issue! Let me know how this works for you and if I can be any more assistance.

Broken touch screen on palm pixi. have blackberry now. how can i retrieve my contacts?

There are two possible solutions to this problem

    1. if you've previously linked and synced your phone with a google account then you can simple go to google.com/contacts to view your contacts from where you can export them to outlook etc and then on to your new phone.

    2. get/borrow another palm device running webos. reset it. sign into your account, if you'd previously enabled backing up to your palm profile online, you can just sign in using your palm profile id and the contacts will be synced with the new device. Then sign into google and sync the device with a google account and from there you should get a hold of your contacts.

no need for a wipe of the handheld, but you will need to go into an authorized service center. they will have a software program that will read the settings of the phone, and then you can reset or turn off the security pin, but you will need to go into the store for this procedure.
