I've had this keyboard for over a year. After a few months it started malfunctioning. When I press a key, it will continuously type the same letter/number/symbol over and over again. The only way to make it stop is to turn it off and reconnect it, but half the time THAT doesn't work either. This has resulted in the loss of a lot of work, because the backspace button is the worst culprit. It erases everything I've typed, and continues to backspace, so i can't type anything without it getting messed up. I've been using the on-screen keyboard for everything, which obviously takes a long time. I've tried everything I can think of, the batteries are new, and no matter what it's still going crazy. Is it fixable, or should i just chuck it out the window and buy a new one?

Go to control panel>priters and other hardware>keyboard, then in the speed tab move cursor to slower side and test in area below. It may stop it from happening, but you would expect it to do it on every keystroke, so it may be sending the first stroke to wake up the keyboard. It may be the keyboard or the sender that is faulty and a replacement to really solve it.

Often this is simply because the radio link between the receiver and the mouse/keyboard has been broken. Some possible reasons for this are: flat batteries, insertion of new batteries, connector to the computer removed, etc.
In the first instance, you should restore the Logitech devices to a defined status (reset). To reset the device:
Remove the batteries from the mouse/keyboard for approximately ½ hour.
Press
and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver for 15-20 seconds. Make
sure that the receiver is connected, the PC is switched on and that
there are no batteries in the devices. After resetting, insert new
batteries and restore the connection as follows:
If
one or both of these devices is still not working, try them on another
compatible PC system to ensure that the fault does not lie with your PC
system.

As far as I remember, Logitech has 5 years warranty on this particular desktop set. Call the support in your country and ask! (or read on the box if you still got it, but you better put all the screws back in first :-)
PS: Did you check that the ribbon cable to the display was firmly inserted in the corrosponding scoket on the cuircuit board inside?. There is also a small clamp that slides and insuers connection.

Remove batteries from KB and type randomly over the KB for about 20 secs to discharge the capacitors. Reinsert the batteries in the proper orientation and reconnect to dongle. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the KB software. Also ensure that there is no source of interference nearby like strong magnets, powerful speakers, etc..
Let me know how it goes.
