Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

DD603 was showing F1 error and motor was whirring away, put off an electrical burning smell then popped circuit breaker for kitchen. Now when turned on bottom drawer lights up, no life from top drawer then pops whole kitchen circuit breaker after a second or two. I know how to dry out flood sensor and pull out drawers. Can anyone help me source the cause of the power problems? Motor burnt out or circuit board blown, etc.?

On further inspection the bottom of the unit had flooded and the Filter Board has burnt/blown completely - currently sourcing a new one, plus replacement wiring loom as it melted that in the process. Is it likely to have blown other circuitry as well? How can I tell if anything else needs replacing?

Replaced main filter board and the cables running to each drawer. Now the drawers light up when the machine is switched on, but the top drawer runs for about 15 seconds into a cycle before flashing the F1 error - I've taken the bottom drawer out and dried the whole area completely with a hair dryer. Is there a trick to reinstalling the filter board? Does the screw only go to a certain tightness? Is that the only area that the F1 error would appear for? Bottom drawer isn't working, but that's only because the buttons are broken - a separate fault I am working to rectify

Hi mate - usually F1 codes on the dish drawers are leak related - its possible you had a leak and some components burnt as a result..

Control boards are located inside the door panels, the rotor in the mid of the washer are removed from the inside, I forgotten how to remove the cabinet drawer, only ever done 1 some 10yrs back - under the drawers are your heater elements and the motor stator (windings).

Its possible the motor have piked due to leaks - really have to dismantle it first before you can decide which way to go.

Sorry cannot offer more for now, copyright laws prevent me from showing you a cross section of the unit.

I will keep an eye on your progress...

F1 error code

Good Afternoon Lyle, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Typically error code F1 indicates that a runaway temperature (overheating) issue has been detected. Let's try reprogramming your range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn your range on. If the error code does not clear, at this point, I would suggest contacting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the RTD Probe (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (electronic oven control) will need replacing. Hope this helps!

Bosh SHY56A Dishwasher - Loud Pop and Smoke While

Hey Matt,
Dishwashers are not that complicated.. Turn off the breaker, pull the machine out - away from the wall..(there will/should be at lest two screws in the top edge holding it to the counter.. remove them first.. then pull it out until you can turn off the water supply.. When you are able to completely remove the washer, you should be able (possibly)to see what happened.. Check to see if the washer arm (inside the washer) will turn, if not.. replace the motor.., check to see if the pump belt will turn?.. it could be the pump drive motor or the pump its self..(remove the belt), then see if the motor will turn, check to see if the pump will turn.
.. White smoke makes me think that the belt was turning and the pump NOT turning..that will cause the belt to smoke.. and smell like burning rubber..If the pump will not turn. you have found t he problem... Also ..Check to make sure there is not a knife or some other object lodged in the drain or pump
NOW -- With all this.. Sometimes REPLACING the machine is actually cheaper than repairing the old one!!! Your wife deserves a NEW one!!

Frigidaire Model ES200 White Electric Range f1

F-1 USUALLY MEENS THE MAIN PCB OR CLOCK ***. I WOULD RECOMEND REMOVING THE POWER AND PULLING IT AWAY FROM THE WALL .TAKE THE BACK PANNEL OFF AND LOOK FOR A BURN MARK. THAT SHOULD SHOW WHAT BLEW.
GOOD LUCK!

Maytag Performa Electric Range (PER1510) tripped circuit breaker when immediately following turning the oven on. There was a mild electric burn smell from behind the range. I have left the circuit...

first, un-plug unit and remove rear access cover,it could be a wire with bad insulation that has shorted to the body of the unit, could be an oven/broiler element, could be one of your feed lines to the unit shorted to ground, does it trip brkr w/o anything turned on???you can also isolate the problem that way.good luck

DISPLAY ERROR F1-8

F1-8 commonly means shorted membrane. Unplug or shut off the circuit breakers for 15 minutes, plug back in/turn back on, if problem persists replace membrane, if they are integrated parts replace control board (some come with membrane on parts vary)

Always shut off power before any repair attempts electrically

Have a magic chef oven, f1 display after self cleaning, stove top works fine, any thoughts

F-1 is a fault code.

Disconnect the power plug or turn range power off at circuit breaker. Wait a couple of minutes, then plug the range in or flip the range circuit breaker to ON.

Oven control beeps & displays any F  code error (for example
F11) - Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press
CLEAR/OFF to clear the display & stop beeping. Reprogram
oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press CLEAR/OFF
contact an authorized service agent.
