Hi there, your external hard disk may be infected by virus.Firstly, remove the virus with anti-virus software in your computer. Then you can recover your files from hard disk with third party data recovery software.I have succeed to recover files from hard disk with Tenorshare data recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard disk to look for lost data.
By the way,you can download a trial version and scan your hard disk for free to preview whether your files can be recovered. http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm

You can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the hard disk (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the hard disk and recover your files.

It sounds like your hard disk is virus-infected. Nowadays, some virus also would hide the disk files and create some strange shortcuts.
So, for the safety of your inner saved files, you'd better run your antivirus tool and scan the possible virus out. Take care not to delete some needed files.
But, if the antivirus tool doesn't make a sense, your hard disk may get some problems. You'd better use a data recovery freeware to scan your disk and retrieve your needed data back:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/03/hard-disk-drive-raw.html

In the future, I hope you could learn to do regular antivirus scan and make data backups all the time.

I have faced same problem. Shortcuts everywhere.
Not once, many times.

I tried many solutions.

Shortcut Virus Remover is the best solution I found.

A 100% free simple application.

You can download it from this link - http://www.shortcutvirusremover.com

Place it in your pen drive and double click to run. Press Enter to confirm its process. That is all. Shortcuts will remove and your data will be back in a second.

Disk management shows raw..... Please help!

DO NOT FORMAT YOUR DISK. It has been damaged; how easy or even possible to recover your data depends on the degree of damage.
Try your HD in another computer; if it works, make a back-up of your filesicon1.png on another disk.
To understand what RAW format means, try this
http://www.ehow.com/facts_7167186_raw-disk-format_.html
or look for it in Wikipedia.
By searching the internet ("raw disk has data on it"), the first article I found was this
http://html5.litten.com/how-to-fix-external-disk-drive-suddenly-became-raw/
which may be of some help.
In that article a Linux system is used to read and modify the disk. There other tools for repairing this type of fault, for example, http://www.easeus.com/resource/recover-raw-disk.htm
(I do not know if this free:: the information in the article is certainly free though)
Recovering your files will probably mean a lot reading, research and time, but you might be lucky. I recommend reading any article you are going to use through to the end before you start with it.

My Iomega 1tb drive now only shows invalid shortcuts instead of the directories to my 800 gb of data please help!

first, recover your files with data recovery program like asoftech data recovery program.
http://www.geardownload.com/system/asoftech-data-recovery.html

I've had to use it many times in the past but in this case you need to plug that drive into another system as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.

After you get back your files, you can then format the drive.

My folder's turned into 1 KB Shortcuts on my 500 GB WD Hard Drive, it seems like memory in my HD is used, but when i click in to open folder it says that file cannot find :(

Well, it's obviously your external WD drive infected with virus which stop you from accessing the data by turning them into shortcuts (such as 1KB or 2KB). This blog article how to fix folder become shortcuts should help you out. Follow the step by step please. Note: do not attempt to format the drive before you try.

The ".Ink" you refer to is really ".lnk" (the first character of the extension is a lower-case "L," as in link, not an "I"). Shortcuts use "lnk" as their file extension.

This kind of thing can happen if you install software from a networked drive and then later detach from that network, which is a common situation if you use a laptop computer that you disconnect from your office network and take home. To find the shortcut, follow these steps: Open Windows Explorer and press Ctrl-F (hold down the control key and press F) to bring up the Find dialog. Select "Local Hard Drives" in the Look in dropdown, and enter ".lnk" (or whatever the error message reported for the name of the bad shortcut) in the Named field. When you click the Find Now button, Windows will search your hard drives for the shortcut and display what it found.
