Hi, If the camera displays Memory card error or No Memory Card when a memory card is inserted or any of the above error messages, make sure that the card is inserted properly. If this is the case, you may wish to Format the memory card in the camera using the Setup Menu option [Format] as shown below. Please be aware that formatting the memory card will remove any images currently stored on the card along with any other data. This can also be caused when images shot with another camera are stored on the memory card. If after formatting the card in the camera the error persists, try another memory card. If this occurs with only the one card it is likely that the memory card is defective, if the error persists over more than one card the camera may require service. If the card appears to be defective you may wish to contact the memory card manufacturer. Thank you!!
The Read Error message displayed on the Camera when accessing the images which was not recorded correctly. This may also happen when the Memory Stick is corrupted to record or read the files. Please check if the message is displaying when accessing all the images. If it happens with all the images, then it may be an issue with the Camera or the Memory Stick.
To check if the issue is with the Memory Stick, try using a different Memory Stick and check if the message displays.This may also happen when an attempt was made to play back the image or the movie that was not recorded on this camera.
Try to wipe the contact area on the Memory Card with a soft, dry cloth. It may be necessary to format the Memory Card (Format option is available in the Setup 2 Menu of the Camera). If the message still appears, service may be required.
The card needs to be formatted in the camera, not on the computer. Try going into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.
Hi,
The only reason your camera displays the message "Format Card" is because it no longer recognizes the contents of the memory card..
A couple of things you can try:
1. Reformat of the memory card itself which can be done by the PC through the card reader/USB connection or the Format command in your camera (Menu/Set-up);
2. It maybe that the card is already faulty and therefore would require replacement.
Good luck and kind regards.
This error message indicates that the internal memory in the camera requires formatting or is corrupt. You must format the internal memory.
CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a memory card during formatting may damage the card.
(Formatting internal memory also erases email addresses and album names. To restore addresses and albums, see Kodak EasyShare software Help.)
