Samtron VCR. My picture is fuzzy on all the VCR tapes and i know my tapes aren't bad because they work in other vcrs. How can i fix this? I don't have the original remote, this VCR was...

Have you tried cleaning the tape head? I recommend taking the top cover off to clean any video. Then I spray the heads with Servisol Video 40. You should clean all the surfaces that a tape touches.
You can get a universal remote, this will allow you to adjust the tracking.

My Canon IPF 5100 printer black ink is really fuzzy, I have to prit dark grey as I can't read the black. I have cleaned the heads and done nozzle checks, what else could it be?

If prints are coming out fuzzy this is likely to be an alignment issue. I would recommend doing some alignment tests from your printer/printer software.

Print head is stuck to the far right of the printer I have had problems in the past with the head cleaner popping up and stopping the print head from going home but now it has I think come loose and...

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Sir, In Epson Printers if print head is struck and it don't move then it may be because of several reasons.Mostly problem of print head struck is because of Paper Jam, actually their may be small bit paper jam in side the printer head,There are some "micro-sensors" that detect a paper jam. There will be tiny piece of paper, or a lump of dust, inside those sensors, thus "tripping" the sensor and it struck the Print Head.Open printer cover and check to make sure no paper or foreign objects obstructing the printer feederIf you become sure that now really there is no paper, dust or foreign objects then
Turn the printer off, and disconnect the AC power-cable. Open the printer cover & now give the printer a "blow-job" by compressed air.It will clear the printer jam and it may allow you to move print head.
If problem still exist then it may be due to dirty or clogged print head which hinder a regular flow of ink from the ink cartridge to paper. The first step is actually knowing where the print head is and what it does. As you print a document, ink droplets leave the ink cartridge through the cartridge nozzle and go to the print head. The print head then lays the ink on a precise point on the paper. As you print, tiny droplets of ink can get stuck around the print head opening. If these drops get time to dry, they can form a crust around the print head and print head struck because of it. This problem can be solved if you clean the print head with software, There are a few ways to go about cleaning the print head. Potentially, the easiest way is to let your printer clean itself. Many inkjet printers will have maintenance options in the printers software that will actually clean your printer for you. You can use them to clean it, After cleaning it may allow you to move the print head.If the built-in cleaning functions don't seem to do the job then There are a few ways to clean your print head manually. Its technical because you need to open the Printer, First remove the ink cartridge from the print head and take the print head out of your printer and then dip a cotton swab in hot water or isopropyl alcohol and rub it against the print head. This should loosen any crusted ink. Put some isopropyl alcohol or hot water into a saucer and set the printer head in the saucer. Let it soak for at least an hour. If it's really dirty, it might be a good idea to let it soak overnight. Let it air dry, reinstall it in your computer, and run a cleaning cycle,This should get rid of any dried ink that was loosened during the soaking. Be careful, especially if you use isopropyl alcohol to clean your print heads, Some printers use rubber gaskets; if you get isopropyl alcohol on the gaskets, it could dry them out. This process surely helps you but its highly technical so i recommend if your product is in warranty or out of warranty. If your product is in warranty, Simply contact to Epson Service Center or from where you purchased it and claim the warranty. Your problem will be solvedI hope this solution helps you and you have clear picture in your mind
Let me know if you have any confusion in your mind.

Sir/Ma'am, Your Rating as Five Stars for this solution and Words of appreciation as Feedback for me will be really esteemed

My hp deskjet 6980 seems to be feeding the paper fine but starts the actual printing about an inch or two farther down then it should so that I can't print any forms like checks because it is not...

Check the following:
  • The specific Printer driver for your OS has been installed (look at Printer properties)
  • The correct paper size has been selected and loaded from the correct feeder slot.
  • Application software (such as MS Office) has correct print margins (and more specifically the heading margin)
ps. Mis-alignment of the cartridge will not cause such massive errors but would normally result in a 'fuzzy' printout.

Hope it helps and good luck!

Print output is coming out fuzzy.

Hi,

Most likely this is a print head issue. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:

(1) Open the printer
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print head and each ink cartridge.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

If that does not work then you have one of two possibilities:
(1) One of the ink cartridges is defective and causing the error
(2) If it's definitely not that, then the print head will need to be replaced.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

When I print a document the text, pictures or photos are coming out fuzzy and slightly distorted.

This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

MP830 PGBK does not print, tried new cartridges and usual cleaning etc, nothing. Bought new print head but still does not print. Other colours Bk,Y,M,C all ok. Have tried 'Auto Alignment' but this fails...

the printhead probably needs to be taken out of printer and cleaned.

just pop the ink cartridges out, then remove the print-head, fill a sink full of warm water, and swirl the print head around in the warm water. Blow through the color slits on the print head into the sink full of water it will get messy. empty the sink full of colored warm water.
rinse and repeat till your are satisfied its clean. dry it off with a cloth towel you don't care for, because it will get messy and covered in ink.
put your printer back together and it should work...it may take a few times...but i got my printer 'PGBK ink cartridge' working again doing this. or you can spend 100 bucks and buy a new print-head...my printer is a mp830 it came apart easily no tools or force needed... good luck and don't break your printer...its easy.
