Can't get the base off of my Proscan 32LB45Q

    Hi,

I have the manual and have already taken all the steps you sent me. Please advise on what to do now.

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2011

I have the manual to this TV and have already taken all the screws out as directed. I still cannot get the base from the TV. I called the Proscan tech support line and they also told me to take the 4 screws out and the base should slide out. It does not.

    Hi,

I tried your solution and still can't get the base off. It feels like it's stuck in there for some reason. Any other suggestions?

    Hi,
I can't get the base off of my Proscan 32LB45Q. I've completed all of the directions from my manual, tried motor oil and prying all to no avail. Any other ideas?

  • Anonymous Jun 25, 2011

Tried all that. I have the manual as well. Thanks.

  • Anonymous Jun 25, 2011

Not sure if anybody is looking at these comments because I keep receiving the same fix it solutions. I have the manual, I have followed the directions to take the base out and it does not work. Please don't send me directions from the manual again because I am smart enough to have tried that already. Any other solutions would be appreciated, thanks.

You mean the base of the stand? There is a lock kind of thing that you have to slide it to the other side and then remove the stand while tugging on it. Have you tried that?

Hello

Place the TV faced down on a soft cloth or cushion to protect the LCD panel from
damage
Unscrew four black screws that fixes the stand with TV cabin.
Slide out the stand off from TV.
The proceedings are given in its user manual [page 8]. If you don't have its user manual, send your email address to me by FixYa comment box. I'll send a copy of the manual to you by return mail. OK.

Hello,
After taking the four screws out, the base should actually come off. But since it did not come after removing the screws, then it means it is stuck.
You will need something like an engine oil to make the base come off the TV freely.
Get an engine oil, apply it to the base part or the area where the base is. Do put too much, but a reasonable amount.
Wait for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Gently turn the TV upside down, now the base would be facing you, pull it out now. If it doesn't come off freely, shake it a bit and try again. Do this on a rug and not on a bare floor. Also, do it with care.
If base still doesn't come of, study the way the base entered into the TV, and make sure there is nothing holding it back from coming out. Apply some more engine oil and try again.
I believe it should come off it you do the above over and over.
I wish you good luck.
Regards.

I apologize. You didn't mention that you has already followed the steps as indicated in the manual or that you had contacted ProScan already in the initial request. For future reference, please provide more specific details regarding the steps you have already taken. It saves us time and it gets your problems solved quicker. There is nothing else keeping that stand on but four screws. The best advice is to pull harder.

Remove the base on proscan tv

There are many different models, I don't know which one you have.
You can search for the correct user manual with the correct model number. Most are very similar. Here is a link to a user manual with instruction on how to install a base. Removing the screws shown should remove the base.

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured there are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

Tv wont turn on

Check power outlet for power on, whether LED on TV is one after power on. Check whether the LED is blinking. This means there is defect in circuit and this might need attention of a qualified service technician.
