Scanjet 3970 and Vista

Should this scanner work okay with Windows Vista? Connections and everything is all right but the result I manage to scan is full of lines of different colour. White paper scan is OK.

Hi! I had a same issue with another HP Scanner model. I was not able to repair, so I ask my company to buy a new one. I know that it can be repaired as ething can, but as I undertand this issue occur as the head of the reader is not scrolling in the glass as expected and it can be for differnt reasons or power supply is not work properly.

I HAVE A 3970 HP SCANJET SCANNER IT RAN WELL WITH WINDOWS XP BUT SEEMS TO BE INCOMPATABLE WITH VISTA 64 BIT. HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM

You will need to install a new driver. Follow this link to the HP site and download the Vista 64 driver. That should resolve the issue.

HP scanjet 3970will not operated with vista o/s,

Decided I would be spending more time and effort than this scanner was worth. I went and purchased an Epsom. My plan is to rid my house of everything HP. They are not the company they were for so many years, must be the cost accountants are running the show.
