For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.

i have the same model and same 6 flashing red. replacing the g1 board did not work. found the service manual and it says the g1board is not getting the 17volts at pin 35. the manual does not id the board feeding the g1 which i believe is the issue.

Gary, I am looking at the PDF service manual and I can't see where it identifies pin 35. Can you point me to the correct schematic in the manual?. I see the diagnostic code table on Page 8: +B OVP error; indicator blinks 6 times +17V i not supplied (G1 board) No Picture/No Sound. To obtain a replacement G-1 board, I bought the entire left side electroncis board on eBay. I think the board / Chasis came from a KF-42WE16 or Kf-50WE16 rather than a KF-60WE610. However, the G-1 board worked just fine in my 60 Inch... I think I still have the rest of the electronics board / chasis and components. I sent my light block / engine (projector) to be rebuilt by John Breton in Haddam Connecticut. In fact, he rebuilt two for me. The picture is great now. You might wish to consult with John as well. Sony kf-60we610 stand by blinks 5 times

Hey there,
I've had my Sony KF-50WE610 for approx. 4years now and have just experienced the prob you described (though I didn't think to count the number of red blinks). I called Sony TV technical support (888-772-7669, #3 for TV/digital cameras, #1 for TV, then #1 again I think). They said that if the power/standby light blinks 5x, that means there's something wrong with the lamp driver and service will be required. Needless to say, I better go home and count my red blinks! Good luck, I hope this helps a bit. Have a happy and safe holiday!

Sony KF-50WE610 flahing red light (6 blinks)

Jeff, did you look at the Sony web site? They had a problem with 9 different TV models that were from 2003 and 2004, KF-42WE610, KF-50WE610, KF-60WE610 and 6 other models.
This is what it states: It haas come to our attention that a limited number of Grand WEGA rear projection TV's may exhibit warping to the lamp access door. In rare cases, some additional components may also become damaged as a result. and so on........
You probably have some components melted on the inside around the lamp. I have a 42 inch and I just replaced the lamp at Christmas and the door was melted shut. This is the second lamp that I have replaced, the door was starting to melt the first time. They never sent me anything about this problem, and as of today I am still trying to work something out with them. The repair shop who has it told me that it can't be repaired. The parts that are melted are not in stock and they don't make them anymore. They are supposed to get back with me and make me some kind of offer.
They will only fix this problem through March 31, 2009.
