I just purchased from Vtech LS6475 plus two accessory handsets LS6405. The two handsets that were packaged with the base registered without a problem. The two access. hs's are not registering. They go through the cycles and each time they come up with 'registration failed.' Help!

SOURCE: Uniden DCT648 register phone problem

I have contacted Uniden about solving this problem. They suggested I clear the eeprom on the handsets and reset the base. To clear the eeprom detach all of the batteries and reattach while holding the star and pound. You'll hear a beep. Press select and the unit will clear the eeprom. Now hit end and the unit will say "Welcome...something or other". Next unplug the base unit reattach while holding delete. Next hit delete twice...the base is reset. Apparently this is the last possible solution to marrying the handsets and base. This didn't work for me and the units have been declared dead. Good luck in solving your electronic problems.

SOURCE: How to I reset the base for a Vtech VT-2431

This worked for me after lots of digging....If you have already tryed reregistering your handsets and can only get two-or three to work try this and deregister them and re-register. If your base model number is vt2431: Take the handset out of the base, press **335782 on the dial pad of the base. (do not have the line active or anything , just put the (2) stars and 335782 in (no spaces) on the base unit. This will de-register all of the handsets at one time.

How to use additional handsets with my VTECH DS6251-2.

Unfortunately, the old handsets may not be compatible with the new base. The DS6251-2 base only communicates with the DS6250 accessory handset. See the accessory list here: https://www.vtechphones.com/store/pd/4158/DS6251-2-2-Line-2-Handset-Cordless-Phone-with-Answering-System-Smart-Call-Blocker . If the old handsets have been deregistered from the previous base unit, place a handset in the cradle on the base. Wait to see if the handset is registered. Alternately, press and hold Page until you see Registering. Release the Page button. Then press Quiet/# (below 9) on the handset. Wait for the handset to be registered.

To deregister handsets from the DS6251 base, press and hold Page. You'll see Registering Please Wait followed by Deregister all devices? At this point, release the Page button. Then press and release Page or the soft key for Yes.

I hope this helps. These are shown in the manual for the accessory handset. The manual is on available on the accessory handset page: https://www.vtechphones.com/store/pd/4184/DS6250-2-Line-Accessory-Handset-for-DS6251-series-phones . The current link to the manual is https://cdn-web.vtp-media.com/products/DS/DS6250/DS6250_CIB_V2_20200623.pdf .

How can i deregister a headset from my vtech phone model#ls6475-3. Also, is there a limited to how many headsets you can register to the base.

You can deregister all of the handsets and then register each one again for the LS6475-3. Make sure that all of the handsets are out of the base and all chargers and that the phone and all handsets are in standby. Then press and hold Find Handset on the base. When the In Use light begins to blink, release the Find Handset button. During the seven seconds that the In Use light is blinking, press and release the Find Handset button. Wait for the deregistration process to complete (about 10 seconds).

If the process fails, you may need to reset the base. You can do this by unplugging the AC power cord to the base or by picking up a registered handset and pressing Talk/Flash. Then you can try again. These directions are on page 5 (page 8 of the PDF) of the manual for the LS6405 handset. The direct link to this manual is https://cdn-media.vtechphones.com/media/p/document2/products/%7BD6DAD9B0-4C1A-4882-93D9-04124A59B629%7D/LS6405_CIB_V5_20160805.pdf . Then check that all of the handsets are in standby and not on any charger before attempting to deregister the handsets again.

You can register 12 handsets to the LS6475 base, according to page 31 of that manual for the main unit: https://cdn-media.vtechphones.com/media/p/document2/products/%7BA37C95FC-053D-4D34-B60A-EA5ED42B056C%7D/LS6475-3_UM_4_925.pdf . If you use the cordless headsets, you can register 10 handsets and 2 headsets.

These manuals can be found through the product page: https://www.vtechphones.com/pd/1603/LS6475-3-2-Handset-Answering-System-with-Cordless-Headset . The base manual is in the section under the Support & Manuals tab. The handset manual can be found from the Accessories tab. Then click on the Support & Manuals tab after clicking the link for the Handset.

I hope this helps.

*331734#Menu Select on the handset should de-register that handset from the old base, then you can register it to the base as per the manual (put it in the base and hold down the handset locator button for 4 seconds)

I cannot get my Vtech LS6204 to register. I have tried everything and the screen always reads registration failed.

I have a 2-handset VTech CS6419 that I had been using w/o problems for months. Both HS were always plugged in and charged. One day I found the base HS would not ring and the screen had the message that I needed to register the HS. Pressing the "find HS" button to start the process only made the accessory HS, not the malfunctioning base one, ring. I solved the problem by 1) unplugging the base, 2) pulling the batteries from BOTH handsets, then 3) replugging in the base and reattaching the battery for ONLY the malfunctioning HS. 4) I then did the registration process again (press the "Find HS" button on the base for 4 seconds, then press the # button on the HS and wait.) The malfunctioning HS then registered! I then reattached the battery to the accessory HS and returned it to its' base. Problem solved!

Problems with C110 & A110 Vtech Mirage Dect Home phones

Have strangely got the same problem - about the same time you posted this, but intermitently. I have isolated that the problem is in fact the handset itself, not the base unit. I eliminated a problem with the base unit by a) registering a different DECT phone to it. - The base still works fine. b) Leaving the handset switched off for an hour or so (press and hold the "OK" botton to switch off / on); then whislt it was working, registering the handset to a different base (Base 2). And guess what, after 30 mins the "BASE 2" message started flashing on the faulty handset.
So, if you already have an A110 extension handset, make sure it's also registered to base 1 and maybe try to get just the handset repaired via VTECH. (or just buy a new handset if they are available).
