The disc tray on my iView 4000KR won't open. It has a disc inside that plays fine, but won't eject. This has never happened in the 18 months I've had the player.

Oh, it's a standalone DVD player, not a computer, so there's no small hole under the disk tray. I wish there was! Thanks anyway!

I ended up taking the machine apart to free the disk (put a nice big scratch on it too). I put it all back together and the disk tray works just fine now. Go figure.

Under each disk tray is a very small hole; this hole is for use when you experience the problem like yours.

Get a paper/money clip and straighten the wire; push the wire into this hole and your disk will open.

The dvd player will not read the disc

If it won't read any disc you put in, consider getting a new DVD player, the eye is most likely gone bad. If it is only one disc that you can't read i would suggest a Scotch DVD Cleaner kit. Cleans and Repairs discs, helps prevent skipping and mistracking, and repairs minor surface scratches improving disc audio and image quality.

Dvd player will not open disc, display lock

Sound like it either has one or two problems, the door is stuck and or the door eject motor has failed. Look in the front to the player for a small paperclip like hole, and use a paper clip to manual eject the and engage the loading mechanism usually located under the door for most cases. Check you manuals troubleshooting section for manually ejecting a CD..
