Open door check wash arm position start washer for a minute
Confirm wash arm has rotated
Check for plugged spray tips at either end of wash arm.
Use small tweezers to remove
Check for rack and dishes interfering with arm rotation
Place cup in upper rack with opening up cycle washer.
Confirm that cup quickly fills with water
Not washing check water level in tub mim 1 1/2 inch
Discontinue use of rinse/dry liquid additive.
Confirm rinse/dry additive not leaking from dispenser into tub
Washer detergent contains sparkle additive and too much sparkle/rinses/dry additive will coat dishes
Try alternative wash detergent that contains minimal rinse/dry additive and use without liquid rinse/dry additive.
It will take several wash cycles after the elimination of rinse/dry to purge the oily film from dishes and machine..
If success "joy" is achieved with no additives then cautiously add back wash detergent with additives. Additives are important to facilitate drying and protecting the glassware china from leaching. The leaching process permanently etches the surface of glassware leaving a cloudy appearance.
see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:It's
the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins
agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin
cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It
may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with
water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse
water. See There's no cold water.
Possible that the program controller unit is a suspect. So intitially check the inlet valve , check for water flow, if not remove and check INLET valve. after water filling the motor must start, if not the level sensor or the program controller is a suspect. Also if after wash if there is no drain then the drain pump must be checked.
Check the voltage outputs to confirm if the program controller works to the cycle.
First question is the unit under warranty? If it is DO NOT do anything other than the wash arm inspection that you already did on the inside of the unit. You will void the warranty.
Now outside the unit here is what you should do. Check the drain ports from the sink / garbage disposal connection all the ay back to where it connects to the bottom of the dishwasher for obstructions. The garbage disposal port is the source of many dishwasher drain / dirty post cycle dishes problems. This MUST also include taking the Air-Gap apart but lifting off the cover... unscrewing the inner cap nut and inspecting for food particles. The Air-Gaps are notorious for catching food particles just under the upper U cap that reverses the water flow direction. As you take the Air-Gap nut off and lift the inner cap.. NOTE the installed position. It only fits in ONE WAY and can give you fits! Just make sure you align the inner U cap in the original position.
Residual water in the bottom of the dishwasher post cycle is a sure sign of a drain problem.
One other thing you can also use to rid yourself of spotted post cycle dishes is a product called "Jet Dry" Rinse Agent. (assuming there are no drain problems) It comes in bottles for units with internal rinse dispensers and hanging baskets for those units without rinse dispensers.
If you unit is not under warranty there is more that can be done. I do however think that if you perform the above checks that you will resolve the issue.
You could only check the basics. Since the dishes are clean, it means they went through the wash cycle. It also means that that the holes on the washer arm are not blocked. If they were salty and dirty the wash arms would be something to check. And since they came out feeling like salt is on them its possible they didn't rinse and its also possible the dirty water didn't drain. Were your drain and fill hoses checked or did the techs just check the dish washing machine itself? Its also possible the water for rinse is not hot enough. Before the rinse cycle comes around try running the hot water at your kitchen faucet. Any other issues may be within the cycling of the machine.
water temp plays a big role in proper washing the temp coming into the machine has to be a minimum of 120 degrees.
next thing to check is proper water level, there should be standing water in the bottom of the dish washer when it has completed it filling cycle.
try and add some water with out over filling the machine once the fill cycle has stop then run it through again and see what happens.
the main wash motor may have to be replaced
the first thing that your dishwasher does when you turn it on is drain when you turn it on you hear a motor running then it stops then it fills start the washer when it stops to start filling open the door should be no water in the unit if there is you have a drain problem and in fact are washing your dishes in dirty water can be several things that can cause drain problems a piece of food blocking the line at the sink where the drain goes in if its run to a disposer there is a knockout plug that should be removed just stick your finger in there to see if it was removed get you installation instructions and read the part about not removing the drain loop but just about all the time installers will lol if you cant find the instructions go to www.frigidaire.com under customer support can down load them there let me know what you find
Run the unit with no soap, after about 5 min. of run time open door and check to see if water is clear or soapy,If soapy then you are having an oversudsng issue. When your washer gets to rinse cycle, your unit (if oversuding),will be rinsing with soapy water and the the drying cycle bakes the soap on dishes. You might be having a white film on your clear glasses.Cut down on soap especially if you have soft water.powder soap is best.Your dishwasher will fill , wash , the drain. Its what you put into it that will cause dishes not become clean.
