We are trying to move a data base from a Windows XP (service pack 2) laptop to a Windows 7 desktop and we get error messages that the files are corrupt. We are using a thumb drive to do this. Can you explain how to move the data from the one to the other -and we have the same programme installed on both computers

When the program prompts, then creates a backup file for a database, it has a .bak suffix (not amazing). However it also creates a folder in the 'Safe' folder under c:\program files\estimates... All I had to do was locate the most recent version of the db files in the Safe, copy the folder to the c:\documents and settings\...\Invoices directory, and the most recent uncorrupted database was readily available for File Open. Voila.

SOURCE: access of image file through c/c++ programme.

The best way to do this is to use Visual C++ or .NET's C# and use an image object to hold the binary image data as you address/manipulate it. If you are doing this as a web-based application, then ASP.NET using C# is the way to go, again using an image object.
There are many helpful developer site for the beginner through expert that can walk you through the use of an image object. There are also many variants of the image object and you'll have to decide which one best suits your needs. Start with the generic one to get your base code loading and addressing the image and go from there.
Here's a good starting point.
Hope this helps.

hi
u have just restored the phone to its factory settings

but if you do not mind losing data on the phone then you can try a hard reset

* Switch Off the device. * Press and Hold down the keys Green/Talk + 3 + *. * Switch On the device. * If everything goes well then you will see "Formatting" screen. Note: Please make sure that your device is fully charged before you proceed with formatting the device. If the battery goes down during this procedure, It may result in inconsistent state of your device.

Need video driver dell optiplex 170l for windows 7

Drivers can be found at this link:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_CEL_170L

However, you might want to consider the instructions below, as many people have had the same issue you're having with getting those drivers to work with Windows 7:

You may need to install the drivers in compatibility mode for Windows XP

To run the driver installation program in compatibility mode
Configure the driver installation program to run in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Locate the executable file for the driver installation program.
2. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
3. In the PackageName Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
4. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows XP (Service Pack 2) in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.
5. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

Upgrading Windows XP

Most users of Windows XP are using Windows XP service pack 2.
You can upgrade Windows XP service pack 2 by installing plain service pack 3.
This will upgrade and improve functionality to your current installation to Windows XP.
There are alot of versions of Windows XP Service pack 3 but i recommend downloading an official version from Microsoft's downloads center through the link below.

To after download is complete, install the file. Installation takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending on your system specifications.
If your current installation of Windows XP has too many errors, installation of service pack 3 may not be successful.
The solution to this is to reinstall your Operating System (OS) using your OS installation CD, then install Service pack 3.
How ever, OS re installation will erase all your data in your system partition so back up all your data.

To download an official copy of Windows XP service pack 3, follow this link:

IS MY COMPUTER COMPATABLE WITH WINDOWS 7

The specifications of your computer are top of the line and can handle different applications and soft ware. Based on the hardware specs you've posted this should support Windows 7. But keep in mind that some of your hardware components may need be compatible w/ Windows 7 ( like bluetooth, camera, lan adapter, or wlan). In other words they don't have software driver that is compatible w/ Windows 7.
Also, based on Acer's support site: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/0000/Acer/AspireM5100/AspireM5100sp2.shtml
This are the only Operating Systems that this model supports: Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2
Windows Vista™ Home Premium
Windows Vista™ Home Basic

the error that you are getting is caused when you use an old Windows XP CD without service pack 2 integrated. If you want to install XP on to the new system you must use an XP CD that has service pack 2 integrated.

Firewall settings

This usually happens due to missing or corrupt SharedAccess reg key, which represents the Windows Firewall Service.
Resolution

Download sharedaccess.reg (for Windows XP SP2 only) and save to Desktop. Then double-click the file to merge the contents to the registry. The Services entry will be created. Restart Windows (mandatory step, otherwise the following NETSH command will display an error message).

After restarting Windows, run the following from Command Prompt (cmd.exe)

NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Launch firewall applet from Control Panel, and then configure your Windows Firewall settings.

If nothing helps, as a last-resort solution (before reinstalling Windows XP Service Pack 2), give these two commands a try. Click Start, Run and type:

rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132 %windir%\inf\netrass.inf

Restart Windows, and then run this command (from Command Prompt):

NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Attempt to start Firewall applet. Start the Windows Firewall service if prompted.
