Hi I have a New HP laptop with XP SP3 but the inbuild language is in Frence so there is no English Language so now I wanted to change the Repair or re-install another XP SP3 English Version but it is not working so what can I do to make it work.

if you have a VeriFone the default language is normally English. to change the language go to VeriFone.com/demos

did you click apply and ok at the bottom of that page

because if you did not do this then it would not save your option

search in google Xp language pack greek. download and install it, after that from control palnel, language and supportesyou can change it.

You have to go to language or regional setting to change your language setting. Go to control panel and choose language and regional and try to update it by installing desired language using internet connection.

Here's the story with Windows XP... On a system running ENGLISH Windows XP (Professional ONLY), you can put a Multi-language User Interface (MUI in short) and make it localized. This action is reversible, means you can go back to English at any time or switch to another language. BUT, if the original Windows language is NOT English, you just can't switch the user interface to English.

How to check if it's original English version or not? - Go to Control Panel (a symbol of a notebook and a pen) -> Regional and Language Options (a symbol of a globe). Click on the Languages tab (the middle one). If there's a selection box at the button - you're in luck! Click it and change to English. Then accept and restart!
In there's no selection box - I'm sorry but you'll have to format and install an English version of Windows XP - Home or Professional - whatever fits you best!

PS: On laptops that ships with Windows pre-installed in a localized version (language), there's SOMETIMES an indicator to it on the license sticker at the bottom of the laptop.

Is the keyboard flexible cable the same pin as the original keyboard? If yes and you are sure the new keyboard is okay, then you can change the language to the preferred language e.g US English, change its position to the first and make it referred. Its should work. You can also check online if there is any keyboard or input driver which when installed can be of help.

reinstall service pack 3 with language pack from microsoft.Make sure you back up your registry first.

If you have XP SP2 in Spanish and want to have it in Eng, you will have to download SP3 in Eng, change someregistry keys (go to KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language registry key, and then change the value date for “Default” and “InstallLanguage” registry value from 0409 to 0410) and you'll be able to install it in Eng.
Resume:
1.Go to start
2. Press run
3. Type Regedit
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ go to "SYSTEM" \ go to "ControlSet001" \ go to "Control"\ go to "Nls" go to " languages"
5. Change the Default” and “InstallLanguage” (first and last in the list) to 0409 [for you.S english, for other codes look down in the thread],
6. Download and install Sp3 for xp in English
7. Restart computer.
8. Be happy for it works.

to change your operateing system language you need to get the windows in that language. There are many difrent versions of windows in difrent languages.

If I want my xp to be in finnish I have to get my hands on a CD which is in finnish. IF I want english I need a english version of the cd.

You will need a spanish xp setup cd.

also it may be possible to convert xp into another language. with some
Windows XP Multilingual User Interface (MUI)

I hear it costs money and I haven't used or tryed it.
