The computer fan may be clogged with dust or may have failed. The computer monitors the fan and if it is not working it will not let the computer start. It is a way for the pc to keep itself from overheating. Unplug the computer and open the cover and carefully try to vacuum or blow out all the dust. Then with the cover off try starting the computer and watch the fans and see which one is not turning, it may start if there was a lot off dust. If not the fan may need to be replaced.

Tap F8 when you are booting, select "Safe Mode With Networking". C. If this process finds malware, to keep stuff like that from coming back, I recommend you get the paid version of Malwarebytes.

Why won't my COMPAQ PRESARIO SR2032X desk top

Please turn off the computer, start hitting F8 at the start-up and then choose last known good configuration. If this does not work, choose Safe mode options.
If still does not work, please try to restore the computer to factory settings. You can try to hit F11 or F10 at the startup to initiate recovery.
If not working, please tell me what error message you get on the screen.

Hi ,
When yo first start your computer , hit esc botton or f10 depending on what will take you to the start up mode and not the cmos settings , click on normal start up , if this does not work , take a bootable cd-rom and repair the system , dont reload windows ,..........Good Luck Roy

Noisy fans on a desk-top pc Model Acer Veriton 1000. Besides replacement for new fans, can brushless fans be serviced or lubricated?

The Veriton 1000 I have has 50mm fans (length and width). 80mm are the wrong size. They are 15mm thick, 12V, 0.2A. For some reason, these seem to be more expensive than many other fans.

DELL 8400 MAKES A LOUD FAN NOISE AND WONT BOOT

There are 2 basic fans in Dell tower one for the power supply and the other for the Processor. If your computer is not booting then the Processor fan is most likely to be the culprit. What could be happening is that the Processor fan is no longer turning fast enough to cool the processor, so normal the processor when it over heats there is either protection to switch off the computer automatically or the computer won't boot. The best thing is to change the fan and make sure it is working properly but checking on the cables that they won't entangle on top of the fan to impede it's movement. You can easily damage your processor if the fan is not working properly.

Hello..just moved my desk top to new desk..everything is fine..but mouse won t work..while it was unplugged i cleaned keyboard..monitor with soft cloth..can u tell me why my mouse won t work

IF it's a serial mouse (meaning green round connector) it's probably not plugged in correctly. Now these are not plug and play so you need to reboot your system in order for it to work. Try that.

Hi. I have a HP Pavillion dv7 Laptop. I've had it for approx. 2 & 1/2 years. For the first year I really didn't use it at all. I was working too many hours and working in a call centre, the...

Hello,

The problem very likely may be dirt. Dust and dirt accumulate in the air passages and heat sinks in laptops often causing them to overheat. You say that the laptop was serviced by a technician recently.
He should have cleaned it's cooling system but he may not have. I have found that if the machine is not completely dismantled the dust and dirt blocking the free flow of air may not be visible.

Another possibility is that your cooling fans are waring out. These can be replaced. Also you can purchase high performance fans that are quieter, more efficient and last longed than the standard fans that laptops are supplied with.

Being as you have so much invested in this machine it makes sense to check to see if you have these issues.

Hope that helps.

I received Hp upgrades and now it has made my computer exceptionally noisy and has also rearranged my desk top icons

HP or your antivirus software's regard for its updates caused the updates to clear out your fan/power settings and that's fan noise. If the hard drive keeps going, you'd better find out what that junk is using Process Explorer (downloadable from Microsoft) and probably get rid of that thing. It's probably just running some virus scan once, and all that CPU and drive activityr is necessarily turning fans on, really.
Still, it's like they throw stuff in with some abandon because of people whose machines had no antivirus, and thus are spamming without the owners' knowledge. Hard to blame them, eh?
