I believe for this perticular model to power-up, you must press the Select button first to select a mode, then press the Start button. Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues: 1. Unplug the breadmaker. 2. Confirm the power source your accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc. 3. Plug the breadmaker in. 4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power: 3. No, you were not able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power? Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or discard it. 4. Yes, you have confirmed that your breadmaker is receiving power? Fantastic! Now reset the breadmaker by pressing down on the Start button until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds. Note: It bears mentioning again at this point that some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press the Start button.
