Dear i have nec np 4000 i have replced both lamps bt i cant reset them because it is not starting with new lamps . do i have to press any key to reset lamps . thank you

M300w use LCX102 LCD panels
Sony Lcd panel is not durable

the font strokes are weak,
The color of the black font is not black enough
It means the lcd panel is failed

there are 3 lcd panels in the projector
Red Green Blue 3 lcd panels are failed

you need a new whole prism block with 3 lcd panels

Without remote is not possible. Any way try press and hold the power bottom on the projector About 4 seconds while projector is in standby mode . Not sure it will work but you can make a try.

Search the site by type in " lamp hour reset" in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

On the remote control of the projector, press and hold the HELP button for 10 seconds.

go to menue / reset/clear lamp hours,
all the buttons needed are on the box, push menu & with the cross navigate & with enter confirm selection, exit gets you back at any time, on the nec/support website you can get the np-v series manual

We shut the projector and the laptop down. We let the lamp cool for 20 minutes and then re-booted both, starting with the projector.

l6. After you install a new lamp, select the lamp Usage icon and press and hold
the "Power On" button on the remote control for ten seconds to reset the
lamp time clock to zero.
NOTE: If resetting the lamp clock back to zero after 2100 hours of service,
press the "Power Off" (not "Power On") button on the remote control for ten
seconds

After replacing lamp in MT-830(NEC) press and hold "on" button for 10 seconds to reset lamp hours. If projector has beyond 2100 hours press the "off" button for 10 second.
