WHERE DO I FIND MY WEP KEY? I AM TRYING TO CONNECT MY PS3 TO THE INTERNET

When you purchased the router, you should have run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the router, to set an SSID, to set an encryption-level (use 'WPA' not 'WEP'), and to set a password (WPA-key or WEP-key or pass-phrase).

Use those values that you used when you configured your router to configure your PS3.

Can I just ask, are you entering your AOL WEP key or your new BT WEP key? Just in case you didnt know your BT router will have its WEP key on a sticker on the back of the router. You need to go into network settings --> internet settings and change the WEP key that is registered to the system. It should then connect with no problem.

You need to log onto your router and determine the WEP or WPA key being used. Your router manual has logon details. Also, the key is sometimes on the bottom of the router.

Hello, the wep key is the password you setup for internet access on your router/modem. It is used to protect your home LAN, so let's say it is the same password you have to insert when you access to the internet with your pc/laptop. WEp key is a password to connect your modem , you need to go into modem settings to find that out , most modems settings can be reached from http://192.168.0.1 , all you need to do is wirte this address to the your internet explorer and go into setting of the modem look for wireless settings , if you need more help let us know

You need to get the WEP key from the router that you are using to connect to the Internet. On the Setup or Security screen there will be a Network Key or Password. That is the code your PS3 is looking for. Once you enter it you should be able to then get on the Internet.

ssid is service set identifier usually sniffer software will find them. the wep wirless encription protocall is a key number usually found on a sticker on the bottom of the wirless modem, router .

ok playstations arn't the best for connecting to the internet but they can connect none the less. first get your router closer to your ps3 to make the connection strength better or purchase a signal booster. get you connection evaluated and see if your ps3 is working properley by disconecting it from the mains for about an hour and then reconecting it to the mains. it might connect then but try a signal booster, it might help but it's probably your internet. - good luck

wep key or router administrative password?
if you have router admin password, you just go to your router settings and reset, delete all WEP key setting
(i assume one that connect to your router is only the PS3)
The setting should be web-based.
connect a pc to your router using LAN/ethernet port.
Access the router (you should know the router
ip address) via IE ex: http://192.168.0.1/
Read your router manual for details.

you will need to obtain your wep key no matter what...you can get it from whoever your router company is (if it is a linksys then call the linksys support number and obtain the key) in most cases thought the wep key is located on the router itself near the bar code. It will be a long number, When you get it and enter it in to the network settings then it should pick up the signal
