Installing WM5 on Imate JAM

Hi there,
For normal installation , you have to install Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 for your Imate Jam and a USB cable, You can download the Microsoft Active Sync software from the link below

Once you download the Microsoft active sync , simply run the setup and it will install it automatically, then connect your mobile phone, and it will install your phone automactically

you can get a free program for your phone, that enables you to use it as i wierless router. all you do is download and install it on your phone, and you ca send out wierless internet to not only your laptop, but any other wierless device as well.

You cannot upgrade to windows mobile 5 , but you sure can upgrade to windows mobile 6. I have i-mate jam with wm6.1 installed. Here is the link with this rom version. inside is a file with instructions : http://rapidshare.com/files/257201043/HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3.rar

u cannot install windows mobile 5 on imate jam...

Pretty doofusly simple really, and I realised that I had been wasting time effort and money even earlier by going toi the warranty provider, who really **** (United Mobiles in Pakistan)

All you need to do to reboot windows is -
1) go to START
2) go to SETTINGS
3) go to the SYSTEM tab
4) select CLEAR STORAGE
5) enter the code asked (that is 1234)
6) select YES at bottom left

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TAKEN THE BACK UP OF ANY IMPORTANT INFO YOU WANTED TO KEEP,YOU WILL LOSE ALL ON YOUR SET

u can install but u need to attach an external GPS receiver for it, for ur friends mobile model he will be having inbuilt on it

download Windows Mobile 6.0 from ( Imate.com ) , when you download the file connect the phone with your PC using Microsoft Activesync , then run the rom ( file that u download it ) .
then follow the instruction that will appeare to you on your PC screen AND will Appeare to you in your phone

let me tell u if u r using windows XP as an operatin system
then activesync creates some problem it is better to download activesync 4.5 which is the latest one and your problem will be solved. you can download it from net...

look sir,
the operating system should be installed from your PC not from the i-mate  
so  you will have to do the following:
A- install microsoft activsync to connect the i-mate to the PC
B- download the windows 6 file
C- connect the i-mate to the PC then open the windows 6 file by double click it , it will guide you to instll the operating system on your device
note:
windows 6 mobile will not properlly work on i-mate jam you will find a problem when you use it,
so my advice is to install the 2003 CE and install all it's updates this will be batter than that

It sounds like your ROM image is corrupted somehow, reprogram the rom image. You can download an Win Mobile 5 image from www.clubmate.com or try www.xda-developers.com for cooked roms. Read the installation instructions carefully and you shouldn't have any problems.
