Hi,

As you have dropped your camera due to that lens barrel (focusing ring) is not able extend, Your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center but you can try these solution.

  • What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
  • You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Good luck and have a nice day.

Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Fujifilm j38 lens is stuck in the camera

You forgot to pull out after the lens was pushed in on the side. That mistake makes it very expensive to fix. If you buy the same parts camera with a bad lcd on ebay. You can have your good lcd replaced on the ebay parts camera. Replacing lcd is an easier job.

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems (Access Error on Sony's) can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

EX-Z60 A Casio

Is there anything that sounds like a "beeping" noise when it extends? A lot of times the focus motor gears are knocked out of place. This causes a lens error, even if the lens extends fine. The camera has the "external" zoom lens, and an internal focus lens. This can be only fixed with disassembly of the lens, if indeed this is the problem you're talking about.
