Give up mate,
This MP3 player is total garbage, many MP3 just wont play and the Archos Service can\'t help.
Archos does not provide an firmware update for this device, even if is poorly working.
So, this product is useless as the Archos service.
Don\'t buy any Archos products or you will regret.

I can't make my archos

be sure that you have already saved a list of song on your playlist. and for the pdf also make sure that there was a file that save on that location...

How do I copy music from CD. I want to transfer from laptop to Archos Clipper but even though it says the copy is complete I haven't been able to find the music! Can you help? Many thanks. Cara

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

I have just bought an Archos Clipper mp3, I have drag and dropped music from Itunes to the Archos folder which comes up onthe desk top after pluggin it in, the music then copies across and is in the archos...

I have the same problem when I try and copy tunes from my Mac. If you go into the archos file you can see them but cannot play them. How did you solve it?

When i try to play my music it seems to play a tune then stops and just bleeps even though i have hade it on charge for 24 hours and some times it will play more then one tune but nevre has go on for more...

that means the problem is internal, what you can do is save your music onto your hard drive and then format the player and copy back your songs

Music will not load to player

Some music files are in a DRM-protected WMA or AAC format that does not allow you to transfer the songs to certain mp3 players, even though the songs will play fine on your computer. To get around this problem, make sure that you buy a subscription level that has transfer rights - or, better yet, only download songs that are in true mp3 format. Songs in mp3 format do not have copy-protection on them, so they will never give you error messages, headaches, etc.

Problems when i sync my archos with media player

Sounds familiar, I did that a few years ago, then it seemed that it formatted my whole mp3, then copied what i wanted. So if I wanted to sync 1 song, that was all on my mp3 after the sync...
That's the last time I used sync, bad memories.
I now copy manually from the PC to my Archos. Then you can control the order of the mapsand the maps you add. If you sych, WMP puts every map in the library in the Arhos music folder.
I just don't get the point of synchronising...

Mp3 will not load songs.

Had the same problem. You usually have to do this from a computer. But first you rip your selection unto a computer harddrive, creat a folder on the MP3 then from the harddrive pick, drag and drop your sellections into this folder or else the player will not find the music. Then remove MP3 from machine and play.

Are you sure the files are in a format that is playable by the archos media player? what model is it, and what is the file extension of the music files

well if you need help in finding out what codec and format they are i find this useful:http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
tell us what it outputs and it shall become clear, as its either wrong format, or protected itunes wma's or aac's (windows and apple media files respectively)

well apparently you can play MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, APE. so most likely you have the wrong formats as none of those are ones that can be protected :)
