When viewing a video such as you-tube, it keeps pausing. What can I do to make videos run more smoothly?

Its more than likely due to buffering, your pc has to download so much of a video before it will play. If you have a slower internet connection this really affects streaming media. Best thing to do is start your video, then hit pause and let it buffer up. You will see a faint red line below the video indicating how much of the video is downloaded and ready to view. After you let the video buffer and the bar move to the right some you should be able to hit play and watch your videos without it pausing every few seconds.

To resolve this issue, kindly let the video download completely before playing the video.

To do this, click the "Pause" button (shown by red arrow in the attached image) on the video bar and let the pink colored bar (shown by green arrow) fill up entirely.

When the pink bar fills up completely, click the "Play" button. (See below image)

Now the video playback will be smooth and without any breaks.

They aren't downloading quickly enough to play smoothly. This can be an issue with YouTube or your computer. Try a few of these suggestions:
- Play the video in a lower resolution. The menu is in the bottom right of the video, choose a non-HD resolution and it will download much faster.
- Stop other downloads. If you are downloading multiple files/videos/large websites (especially those with animations in Flash), your connection may not be fast enough to support this. Pause a few of the downloads.
- Pause the video and wait until the light red bar fills up. This will let the video download fully before you begin viewing.
- Reboot your browser and/or computer. Sometimes they just need to clear their heads. =)
- Get a faster internet connection.

The speed of your Internet connection is not high-enough to download faster than the video-player is "consuming" the data. Press "pause" in your video-player, and wait 30 seconds for more of the download to happen. Then, press "play", to smoothly play what has been downloaded.

movies keep pausing speed 3.o

Probably not, your description sounds like buffering. This will be better on some days than others due to internet traffic...

Try this next time: Start the video, and then hit pause until a lot of the video downloads....then play it.

All machines do this when accessing across the internet.. Video files are huge.
