I have dazzle DVC 170 Rev. 1.2. this came with the CDs for Windows XP. My new laptop (Compaq 621) is with Windows 7, I downloaded the Instant DVD Recorder. Installed it and then loaded the Pinnacle Studio Quick start CD. The editor did not open as some error. So I uninstalled all the pinnacle software. Then reloaded the Instant DVD recorder. It is not working with Dazzle converter and gives a blue sreen with some message and restarts computer, but works with the webcam of laptop.

One of the drivers is not compatible or unstable with you system. make sure you have the relevant firmware on your system, update the drivers from the driver menu that is in device manager win 10 its right click on windows logo (start) bottom left and click on the driver and update before using it if no update is available you could try the properties of the software. right click on the icon for the software and menu will pop up go to properties click on that and then go to menu compatibility and click to run on win xp mode or another mode. then press ok.

SOURCE: my computer will not install the dazzle DVC100 driver

Hi and Welcome to Fixya,

The reason why it is now showing because your computer did not detect it. If your Windows operating system is vista 64 bit then go ahead and download the driver in here. www.pinnaclesys.com then click on support, download/Studio and dazzle hardware for vista.

Hopefully it helps you.

SOURCE: my pinnacle instant dvd recorder freezes.

The blue screen is referred to in the industry as BSOD( blue screen of death ) this is a stop screen that is built into Windows to halt on errors whether its a hardware malfunction or incompatibility or software conflicts. Your Dazzle could be faulty or the software is causing the halt screen. This is a major problem with Vista. I have changed most of my computers from Vista back to XP because my Dazzle and new video cam won't run on Vista but runs excellent on the same machine once switched over to XP. Good luck and fell free to Google BSOD for more info.

it is better you save xbox on a external hard disc or you see your computer hard disc where you can add dazzle separate on it.

Pinnacle dazzle DVC-101 64-bit Windows 7

Try other drivers. Just install and uninstall if they don't work. Usually, windows have a load of drivers for such. I had same kind of problem before with more than one of my devices before but I got them to work on other brand's drivers. It just takes a little trial and error loading and unloading different drivers.

I have a dazzle dvc 100 rev:1.1. i am trying to transfer homemade videos from hi-8 onto dvd, but it wont let me. what could be the problem ? i have lost the cd it came with

Check the version of your software. You'll need version 2.6.1 if you're trying to use Vista or Windows 7. Older versions of the Dazzle software will not work with XP 64 bit, Vista or 7. This link will take you directly to the Pinnacle download page for the updater package if that's what you need.

Hi-8 capture often requires using a Firewire connection instead of USB. Check the device's details to see if that may be the issue.

Hope that's helpful.

Go to your control panel then device manager look for sound video and games controller, Right click on the Pinnacle DVC 170 video drive device uninstall. Restart the computer. After restarting let the computer do the automatic install then after that try again.

How can I make Windows 7 compatible with Dazzle DVD Recorder?

No... the only way is if Dazzle makes an upgrade or patch. Win7 is closing the door on Software that is not Certified for this specific OS. Good and Bad... mostly Good... for the long run...

You can contact Dazzle... they may discount or help if you are a loyal client :)
