3.53 is about right for 4gb. The marketing folks give the total memory count when they say 4gb, but when a computer counts it, it counts 1024 bytes as a kilobyte. So, a gb is not 1,000,000,000 bytes to the computer, it's 1,024,000,000. Multiply that out, and there's your missing bytes. Plus, the device uses a little bit of the space for its own housekeeping. Don't panic. You got what you paid for.

I can't put music on my polaroid

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

My grandaughter has a polaroid [pmp280c-4] music and video player and the screen got cracked can it be replaced with a new screen?

Here is a new one at Amazon.
I doubt you could get a technician to even look at a repair for $45.

www.amazon.com/Polaroid-4GB-Music-Video-Player/dp/B004JXTH30

It has the capacity to take an 8GB microSDcard, which they will sell you for another $12.

I could say, It's your Granddaughter, go ahead and order one now, you know you want to, but it's only to cover up my fear of how disposable everything is becoming.

Im not really sure how to download the music on to the music play its a pmp280c-4 and i have call the support line and no one can help me

All you have to do is get your CDs, rip them to Windows Media Player (If you're not on PC, and you're on something else, like MAC or Linux, this might not work) and when they're done, hook your mp3 player up to your computer with your usb cable that came with it. Then you'll have to sync the music onto the player. Then, just find the music and play. Hope this helps.

IMPORTANT G1 Question need Help now!!!!!

Put it in your PC and format it such that it allows for more items - music - to be added to or removed from the memory card whenever you waht to do that. That way, it will allow you to add and remove music whenever you want to do that, and it will not lock down the memory card. I have done the same thing with my 32 GB Flash Drive, and it works like a charm.
