Long and short is Maybe. Most large companies will not allow a repaired cord to be used on a job site. Rather the cord must be replaced entirely. If you are using this tool at home. You can either replace the end or dismantle the housing to access the connections. Dismantling, separating the housing and replacing the entire cord is the correct way to repair the tool. If you decide that you want to just replace the end. Go to your local hardware store and buy the appropriate plug. It will either be a two or three wire configuration. Match yours to the new replacement. I am forwarding two pictures please look them over carefully. You will notice the receptacle has three different size holes. The large slotted hole is neutral (the white wire), the small slotted hole is hot (the black wire) and the round hole with a flat bottom is ground (the green wire). Any questions please write back. Midland 77-118. Three wires coming out of unit red,black,and orange. What is the orange for? Also need manual.
Its like the wiring in your house. That little three prong plug. There are three wires, one black,one white, and one green. The green is a ground wire , the black is neg flow and the white is positive flow. Well the red wire is hot ,the yellow wire is neg flow,and the black is ground. Some times the yellow wire isn't even connected. Look inside your radio and you will only see a red and black wire???you will have to google the radio model as such ( 77-118 owners manual)

Triing to install intermatic t103 please help. Source is 3 wire 110v want to run 3 blower 110v 9.5 amps each off the t103 timer. Don't have 220v in house just 110v. I need a very simple wiring diagram I...
T103 has 120Volt clock motor, so we can wire this timer.

T103 timer is rated for 30 amps and 2horsepower and your blowers use 28 amps.
So we're getting close to max on the timer. Hopefully blowers won't all be started at one time since motors draw maximum amperage when they start.
However, you need 30 amp breaker and orange 10 gauge wire for that much amperage >> unless only one blower is turned ON at any given time.
Always match wire size, amperage of breaker and amperage of Load or it will trip the breaker.
If you put 30 amp breaker on size 10 wire it is good. But 30 amp breaker on smaller size 14 or 12 gauge wire is fire hazard.

Look at the basics:
You have 2 cables.
One cable comes from breaker box.
Other cable goes to three 120V plugs (120V is same as 110V).

Each cable has black-wire, white-wire and bare-copper-ground-wire.

How to wire the timer.
Timer has 5 terminals: A 1 2 3 4

A) Cable from breaker box:
White wire from breaker connects to terminal A
Black-wire from breaker connects to terminal 1

B) Cable going to 3 plugs
Black wire to plugs connects to terminal 2
White wire to plugs connects to terminal A
Ground wires connect to green ground screw.

Terminals 3 and 4 are not used in this case.

How do I run from a 100 amp main panel to a 60 amp subpanel, 125 from my house to the garage

Above image shows drawing of 60Amp sub-panel located next to main panel. Drawing shows #6 wire... 125' distance to garage calls for #4 wire. I ran #4 to my barn and have no problems.

Give thought to how many new breakers you want at garage.

Using drawing as a guide. Replace existing 240Volt breaker with new 60 Amp breaker. Two hot wires connect to new 60 Amp breaker. Neutral connects to neutral busbar.

More space: You can free up space in main breaker box using a tandem breaker. Or by doubling up 2 lightly used 120V circuits onto one breaker. Do not double-up on 240 Breakers

Conduit: You want PVC conduit large enough to fit three #4 wires. Bigger conduit is easier to pull wires ... and maybe later ethernet wire, or alarm wire etc.

Ground wire: You can put a ground rod at garage and run #6 bare copper between sub-panel neutral-busbar and ground rod. Attach ground wire firmly with grounding clamp.

I want you to check with local electrical supply for exact code in your area concerning conduit requirements, grounding, and wire size. Tighten all lugs very tight against wire.

I have a hotpoint dryer that has a fire wire plug connected to it. The house i have now has a three prong receptacle on the wall. Can i just buy a three prong receptacle and tape off the extra red wire.

How do you change spark plugs on a 2003 chevy s10 zr2 4.3L v6 4x4 pick up truck?
Most of them are pretty simple. I would recommend doing them one at a time so that you don't mix up any of the plug wires. Pull off the spark plug wire (twist the boot while you pull to release the boot from the plug), then remove and replace the spark plug with a 5/8" spark plug wrench and reconnect the plug wire (put dielectric grease inside the book if it looks dry in there). Do all three (two, four, six) on the passenger side. Now, move to the drivers side. The number one (front) and five (back) will be the same as the others. The number three (middle) is a little more challenging. You will either need to disconnect the steering shaft or use a wide angle swivel on your socket to be able to gain access to this plug. If you choose to disconnect the steering, there is a 10mm bolt, under the plastic housing, that connects the steering shaft to the steering gear. I would recommend a swivel though because it is a tedious job to get the steering put back together straight. Anyway, it's not too hard, just make sure that you only do one at a time. Good Luck!

Either works. Do what is easier. If you g with the 3 wire the white on the range has to be connected to the chassis as well as the terminal connector. Eric

Elkectric dryer won't start
to put it kindly depending on way you connected wires unit could be damaged,replace pigtail with three wire and outlet to original.outlet wires should be black,red and white. turn breaker off attach white to middle and red,black to sides,"either side is fine".Attach dryer pigtail in same manner with white on white and if plug in and turn breaker on.If there is no operation at this point dryer possibly damaged from previous wiring.Just remember be safe when working with electrical and ask before trying to change things that aren't the same.

Split A/C-Cold:

You need four wires(two #10 and two #12) to the outdoor unit, leaving you house, and three wires(#10) coming from the breaker to tye indoor unit inside your house.

Split A/C-Cold and Hot:

You need five wires(two #10 and three #12) to the outdoor unit, leaving your house, and thee wires(#10) coming from the breaker to your indoor unit inside your house.

This ypical arrangment(all of them use three wires fro the breaker), yet there are other units which may require 6-7 wires connected to the the outdoor unit depends on the added features to the unit.

Your issue is as follows;

A 3 prong cord should be wired as follows:

1. 1 end of cord connects to 1 outside terminal.
2. The other end of the cord connects to the remaiing outside terminal.
3. The center wire connects to the center terminal.
4. A separate ground wire should be attached from the dryer chassis, then to a metal cold water line, or an exterior grounding rod.
