Yes, the upper thread tension on the Jan ome MC 11000 SE can be manually adjusted. To do so, start by loosening the tension dial on the back of the machine until the tension is light enough. Then slowly turn the tension dial back up until you reach the desired tension.
You can probably compare the features and pictures of the two machines. More than likely, the manual would be sufficient for you. Most of the time, the only difference is that one machine may have a couple of additional features or accessories.

You will need a Janome service person to install then for you as it requires taking apart alot of the machine to get to the display. We can provide instructions if this person is unsure how to fit.
