That depends upon the operating environment of the a/c system. The high side is directly related to the outside temperature and the low side depends upon the indoor temp, air flow across the evaporator coil, the relative indoor humidity and the static pressures of the duct system. There really is no rule of thumb to go by here but if all is operating properly then you should see something like this:

At 80° F the high should read from 277 psi to 295 psi with a clean condenser coil and the low will be about 116 psi to 130 psi or so if the blower and inside coil are functioning properly and the house temp is not too high or low.

If you are working with the high pressure of R410A refrigerant, also known by the trade name of Puron, then please take precautions to avoid accidental exposure of the face, eyes and exposed skin of the refrigerant and the POE oil it contains. Severe frostbite, lung damage and loss of eyesight may occur if exposure to raw refrigerant is experienced. Please consider calling a professional in your area to work on any refrigerant system.

I have a trane air conditioner operating at 70psi low side pressure but with little to no temperature on liquid line by condenser but is cold to the touch entering the air handler

What type of refrigerant? R22- 70psi is good/ r410- 70 psi not good. What is the head pressure, is the filter clean, is the coil frozen, is the fan operating properly, all the supply air grills open...lots of things cause funky pressures. Need more info

What causes high pressure on the low pressure side of the a.c. unit

Low side and high side pressures are high. Usually indicates an over charged system. do you have a charging guage! if not, go to any auto parts store to get one. advanced auto, auto zone ETC, this guage will tell you the correct amount of freon to put in it, on the low side only.

Add fREON bird low

H stands for High Pressure and the L stand for Low Pressure.
The A/C system is split into two sides, a high pressure side and a low pressure side. An AC compressor is basically a pump, so it has to have an intake side (low pressure side) and a discharge side (high pressure side).

Temp off air coming out of register 74 degrees suction line temp is 42 degrees but high side line isnt warm dont look like it is wanting to take freon either compressor is running new system low side is...

Hello, what is your high side pressure? A bad compressor will show abnormally high low side pressure with abnormally low high side pressure. That 45 low side pressure is low And superheat high. If you high side pressure is normal toma little above normal but the low side remains low you have a restriction in the system, that might be why it's not taking in tne freon. Let me know you high side pressure

Where do you put the freon

freon is added to the low pressure side. The adaptor will only fit this connection, the high pressure connection is a larger connector. You shouldn't just add freon without checking the high pressure side - you can still overpressurize the system, and this will cause your compressor to kick-off on high pressure.

How do you check to see if the high side is leaking back into the low side on a scroll compressor suction pressure is 90psi R-22 suction line is warm but not hot

90 psi is very high for R22....low for R410 refrigerant. If leaking by the head pressure and suction pressure will be close to to the same reading
