I have Minolta Autofocus binoculars...8x22 6.5. They are probably 15 years old. I need to know the battery size since the battery was removed some time ago and discarded and no paper work is available on the binoculars.

I have a Minolta compact af 8 8x23 6.6 binocular and have lost the battery cover. Can I purchase a replacement?

This will depend on how old the binoculars are. If they are reasonably new and Minolta are still selling that model, contact Minolta directly to see if they can supply you with one.
If it's an old set you might struggle to find a replacement cover unless you can find a complete, damaged/cheap set online that you can use for parts.

It was a gift and i have no idea how to use it(AF 10 compact)

Oh, neat! Autofocus binoculars, they run off the same lithium batteries used in cameras (just like an autofocus camera, without the film). Minolta got out of the business in 2006, so unfortunately unable to find a manual, but this eBay listing (for a slightly less powerful unit) covers the basics pretty well.

Minolta Binoculars Autofocus 8X22 6 5 RARE WORKING eBay

From the listing:
Holding down the large button continuously focuses on the subject. The two smaller buttons are to focus manually. Minimum focus distance is about 6 feet. Eyepiece spacing adjustment is with the sliding bar that has a locking lever on the bottom side. Individual diopter adjustment is with the two sliding bars on the bottom, to match each eye to the autofocus.

I have Minolta Pocket 8x24/8.7, 40 year old binoculars. One side is "limp" and doesn't stay in position for viewing. Fix??

Most compact binoculars have a central bridge. The objective (big lens) end of the binocular hinge usually has a ball bearing in it. The other end may either have a blanking cap or a hub where the neck strap attaches. Removing this cap or hub will reveal a grub screw which tightens another ball bearing against the bridge. Take the appropriate part off the limp side and look for the grub screw. Tightening it will decrease the "limpness". Be careful, as these are sometimes set in place with a locktite of some kind. Best to release pressure first before tightening.

Minolta 7000 Maxxum

The Minolta Maxxum 7000 uses a Minolta A mount, which is also used on the Sony Alpha series, as they bought out Minolta's technology. All Maxxum lenses should work for the most part on the Sony Alpha series of DSLR's, including the autofocus.
