Hello. I can assist you. Click on your camera's menu and find the rec menu. Then look for a symbol similar to a clock with one hand pointing at about 10:00. I am going to give you a free downloadable copy of the owner manual All of the details about the self timer are on page 60.

Dear God, It was like a comedy. I got on the whale boat, after having the Canon ixus 60 for 4 years. I've never had any error messages. The whales came 10 feet from the boat and twice raised their head, and no camera, just the beeping and the error message: lens error; restart camera. You can obtain an english Camera User Guide and a Software User Guide from the Canon website. If you want to get a hard copy you will need to contact your local Canon Service Centre and ask if they can order one in for you to purchase.

This camera is actually the same model as the Canon Ixus 860 IS, the description is just different due to the location.
