Sounds silly, but because it's an electric dryer, it's run on a 220 line. Double check your breaker box to make sure both breakers are in the correct position. If only one breaker is in the correct position, you'll have electrical power, but the drum won't spin.
There is something causing the drive motor to bog down. This means the fan isnt spinning fast enough and the whole unit is overheating. Check for anything around the edges of the drum, coins keys etc. The squeal is the belt from the drum being stuck. See how hard it is to turn by hand.
try holding the door switch with your finger and turning the drum with your hand after you push the start button , if this does not start it then you will have to replace the motor
not a good model number, most likely you have a broken belt as long as it starts, heats but the drum doesn't spin,if you get a buzzing sound and it doesn't start you could have something stuck in the blower wheel, the motor is jammed or the motor is bad,you can open the door, push the door switch in,spin the drum with your other hand and have someone push the start button,if it starts you have a bad motor.
check the actual door switch,, you can jumper it to see if this is the problem, Just connect the 2 wires together , if this cures the problem replace the switch
next time send the model number and brand name, all dryers are not the same!it sounds like a bad motor.open the door, push the door switch in with one hand and with the other spin the drum, while you're spinning the drum have someone push the start button,if the motor starts you'll know the motor is bad but it might run for a while before it does this again or it will do it every time but either way the motor should be changed, also on some dryers if the belt broke it will buzz like when the dryer is down but if yours is more like a humming sound like power is going to the motor but it won't run then it's the motor.
