Question about Fujitsu Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

We have a fujitsu reverse cycle air conditioner. Last night when we went to turn it off with the remote it did not respond. We needed to turn it off at the switch outside the house. We replaced the batteries in the remote. We get a display on the remote but it does not appear to communicate with the air conditioner. The air conditioner continued to send out warm air when we swithed it back on from the outside. We then found a manual on / off button under the inside flap of the wall mounted system. This did turn the system on but the fan etc did not come on. Does the unit need reprograming to the remote of any other suggestions. Regards Greg

Check if the remote control if still good, using the camera of your cellphone point remote control to the cellphone camera and press the "on" button of your remote and you can see the light emitting from your remote control transmitter. If the lights emits that means your remote control is good, if not means the remote control is defective. If the remote control still good try to press the RST or RESET button on your remote control and try. If wont works it means that the reciever board in the indoor unit is defective.

I had the same problem with my remote. What happen is that the remote build up dust in side. To fix this problem you have to open the remote by unscrewing all the screws on/in the remote, even the screws that have the motherboard in place. Use WD40 and a dry cloth that will not leave any residue to clean the motherboard. Spray the WD40 on the cloth, not too much, and wipe the motherboard as if you are polishing it, wipe everything on the motherboard gentle. Then you remove all the push buttons (start/stop and the other buttons) on the remote and clean them also, even the slot and wires where the batteries sit. When you are done cleaning put everything back where they belong and your remote should work like new.

You can call Fujitsu and ask them for a manual. They might email you or give you a website where you can download it.. if not then call your local authorized Fujitsu dealer/distributor like RSD (refrigeration supplies distributor)

ASTA12JEC Fujitsu Air Conditioning unit. Dear sir or madam. My air conditioning unit is no longer responding to remote control but stays on. It used to work fine then one day it stopped responding.

Start by replacing the batteries to your remote control and make sure there is nothing blocking the IR receiver on the unit itself. If that is blocked by something hanging on it or tape over it from something hanging on it previously.

Try with this method which happened last week experience. Replace new batteries. And also remove dc wire to indoor unit display sensor. And after 3 minutes fix it again. And now start with remote. Mostly it will. If not, you have to replace receiving sensor in PCB or replace complete PCB. Please write back about the result. Thanks.

In many units no option to use manually without remote and also it's not advisable. With your statement, I conclude your remote is defective and not repairable. Replace with new remote. Helpful?

A/C will not respond to remote control.

The unit has a problem with the safety device, its either defective or have some error. Try to reset the error by disconnecting the power supply for 10sec. then "on" and try. If error still exists may be some of the safety device is defective. You need a qualified technician for this problem.

Check also the air filter if clean and clean if dirty and reset the error.

Control seems to be working but unit not responding.

Check your remote control by using a camera or cellphone camera as your eyes to confirm if the remote control is ok. Point the remote control transmitter to your camera and check if a light emits in your remote control transmitter. If no light then the remote control is defective, but if the light is present then the remote is ok and the unit receiver board itself is defective.

Check also if there is a reset or rst button on the remote control, press the button and test the remote.
