The screens of my DURABRAND PVS 1970 show what being played but they have blacked out areas that start on the right side and extend two thirds of the way across the screen. IThey start out about a quarter inch to three eights of an inch wide and taper off as you go across the srceen. Am I looking at new screens or do I need to do a fix that is not going to be that hard to do?

I have found a solution to my DVD player problem and am glad to know that I have options to help me. Thank you and though it did not fix it it has given me hope that I may still use it and get my dual screens so they can be watched and not garbage.

Hello,
Yes, the fault is from the screen. The moment the screen is replaced, the display would be perfect again and that would be all.
The unfortunate thing now is that the replacement screen for your DURABRAND PVS 1970 is not available in any online store.
I would have suggested you contact DURABRAND and request for the screen replacement directly from them, but DURABRAND's website doesn't even exist. I think this product is out of market.
But hope is not lost, you can try to remove the screen or carry the DURABRAND PVS 1970 along with you to any electronic parts store and look for something very similar. Also, you can go to a repair shop and ask for a DURABRAND PVS 1970 that is no longer working and the screen can be removed if it is in good condition. These are the type of ideas you can think of for now since the screen is not available in the market.
I hope you understand the message I am trying to pass across...
Regards.

I have a PVS 1970 portable dvd player w 2 screen for our car

First, If you have a video IN/OUT switch make sure you have video OUT selected. If you have a blank but lite screen, then your display screen is bad. If you have a dark screen, you should be able to look closely and you might see an image, if so then your backlite might be out. Also make sure not to try to power dual screens with a battery. Make sure the adapter is propery rated for proper output voltage. If repair is needed, you contact me through ebay messaging. Search ebay seller " richards_resale". Good Luck!

Screen is completely black

There is a switch on the right side of the unit labelled Video Out (switch facing front of unit) or TFT On (switch facing rear of unit). First make sure that the switch is on TFT on. If it is then switch to Video out and then back to TFT On. This made our screen starting displaying again when it was black.
