If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if contact is not through the microwave will not work.

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on, use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

The microwave won't even come on, nothing happens when you press the buttons, the clock is not displayed nor is the back panel lighting up

The power to the panel must be faulty. It can be a SMPS unit or a step down transformer that is fitted to the board that can be open. If so replace the transformer so that the panel gets power .

My GE stainless steel 1100 watt microwave starts beeping out of the blue and the display panel shuts off and when I open the door it resets itself and then starts to beep when I close the door again.

Try removing the power cord for about a minute, push all the touch pad 'buttons' and then plug it back in. If this doesn't work it sounds like you may have a bad door interlock switch or a bad PCM .. Good luck !

My Oster OM1201eovg microwave will turn on but it won't heat what I put in there. What's the problem?

Either the inverter which powers things or the Magnatron which in effect does the heating are bad.

If a fairly expensive unit it may be worth repair as these are of course two of the more expensive parts in the unit.

Oster om1201Eovg will not shut off

The microwave should have lasted at least 5 years, Oster has demonstrated that profit comes first and the customer last.

It is one of two things, a defective door switch, or the keypad control board has failed.

Oven won't shut off

One of the door switches is defective, caused by a build up of food particles or normal ware, to correct this a professional will need to identify the problem and replace it.

Khhc2090s trouble

The sensor errors are probably just from opening the door and interrupting the sensor cook cycle.

By the way, you should always press "Stop" before opening the door of a running microwave. Otherwise, the door switches will prematurely fail.

I would first check the door switches and their mounts. See this help file.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Emerson microwave 1100 watt microwave keeps running even when timer stops bought about 7 months ago

Hello,

the problem of this unit is power related.

First, remove the unit's power cord from the wall, wait for about 30mins, then plug it back in. It may cool by then and might power on. If it doesn't power on, plug it into another outlet, to make sure there electricity entering into the unit.

If plugging into another power outlet doesn't power it on then the unit is most likely having a power problem.

When electric current comes from the power outlet into the cooker, it goes straight into the power supply board which then circulates the current into the unit. So if the cooker doesn't power on, the first thing is to make sure there is power entering into the machine.

So check the power cord, if it is a 3-pin plug, it must have a fuse in it. check the fuse if it is not blown. if fuse is intact, then power supply board should be checked.

If any machine or electronics device doesn't power on, it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter and continuity tester in order to read the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Regards.

Oster 1.1.cu.ft countertop microwave model OGF41101 stopped heating

check the high voltage fuse on the inside of the unit if this is not showing a fault then you would most likely be looking at replacing the magnetron in your unit this is the most common piece beside the fuse that shorts out and is what is directly realted to what is actually heating your food depending on what type of microwave it is it may be cheaper to just buy another microwave if the place of origin on the microwave came from a walmart or target store where as buying a magnetron may cost you between 50-100 dollars which is about the price of a micro wave at one of these stores if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations Thanks Rick
