I've got the Hoover #uh70035b, it worked great for a long time, but now after about 5-10 mins it then shuts down and after a "long" while it will work again. It's like it's over heating. Is there a quick fix (cheap), like a fuse etc... I don't have the owners manual. Any help would be great!

It is overheating which usually means something is restricting the airflow, first check for an obstruction somewhere. Both filters should be cleaned frequently and replaced approx. once a year. If new filters don't solve the problem then you probably need a new motor.

Go to hover for the owners manual sounds like it might be a clogged internal filter stifling the normal flow of cooling air around the motor

There is one more filter under where the collection tank & Hepa filter sits -- there is one screw that holds the cover down - remove that filter and clean it that will help. I also find I need to vacuum the hepa filter as well- it is too expensive to replace all the time. The Hepa filter can be placed inside a plastic bag and shaken really good to get the dust off of it

If the filters are ok, and there is no clog in the hose or dirt inlet down by the brushroll, then the motor protector is probably bad.

If the motor slowed down this would indicate a bad motor. not cost effective on this model to replace unless under warranty. it is not uncommon these days to see a motor go bad every now and then.

What are the first 4 digits of your serial number? this would be the month and year of mfr. even without a receipt, a warranty service shop should be able to assist you.

If it shuts off after being used for a whirl and won't come back on for a while it is probably overheating. The heat sensor shuts the machine off and won't let it turn back on until it cools down. If this is the issue it could be the filters are clogged and not allowing enough airflow to keep the motor cool. Most bag less vacuum filters should be replaced frequently even if they are cleaned regularly.

Hoover bagged wind tunnel 2 vacuum turns its self off after about 10 min. of normal vacuuming I can press the power button right away and the vacuum will turn back on and vacuum for sometime as long as 5...

There is a thermal sensor in the motor which shuts power off if it gets too hot but usually it won't turn back on until it cools down. It seems you might have a defective switch

Every time I use my New Hoover steam vac it leaks all the time I've tried every thing, I even bought a new tank same problem, I'm not taking it to be repaired its the 3rd one thats done it an

After the second time I would have asked for a refund. Maybe you need to do some diagnostic work.

1. Does it leak while sitting unplugged?
2. Does it leak while plugged in but not being operated?
3 Does it leak when the solution is above or below a certain level.
4. Are you over filling it?
5. Does it leak only when you pull the trigger? (valve problem)

Keep asking yourself questions to discover where and why it's leaking.

Good luck.

If you have the receipt from when you bought it, take it to the closest Hoover warranty center and they will fix it under the warranty at no cost to you.

If you light and nozzle motor both go off at the same time, you might have a bad power cord. Mine had this problem which I could verify by jiggling/twisting the cord near the strain relief on the nozzle. It would go on and off as I did this. The cord is cheap to replace, around $13 for the part shipped. Part number is 59134072.

My Hoover brush spins, but doesn't have very strong suction. I've checked the filter, tubes, but it seems as though something is stuck inside. Can you tell me how to check behind the roller to...

To get the roller out.Turn the machine upside down. You will see some screws.Remove them. That allows you to remove that plate. The roller will just lift out. Some have a cap on it and can fit tight. On the back of the machine are two more screws that hold the hose on.You can take the hose off there ,if you have not already.Running a straightened out wire hanger through the hose will insure that there is not a clog you may be missing. As it is a few years, replace the belt while you have the roller out.It is on one end of the roller and the other end slips on a small wheel. It is easy to do and may improve the over all performance of the vacuum.
