you will have to contact the ,manufacturers spares or service agent for the brand but generally if a gear has stripped, it is cheaper to junk it and replace it with a new unit
The 1280mx has a circuit that detects the high current when the motor is jammed. The 5 watt, 0.5 ohm resistor/fuse (marked as R1) that is part of this circuit blew on my unit. No visible signs of failure, you have to remove it from the circuit board to test it. When R1 fails more current than normal passes through the R2-1k ohm resistor; need to check if it also failed.
