If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen
When you connect the power cable does the power light comes on and also when you press the power button does the fan turn on or is there any other indication that the laptop is starting?
One thing to try is to unplug the laptop from the power and remove battery for few hours then try again.
try looking for an FN button and an icon on your keyboard that has 2 screens on it one is blank and one has an outline in it Hold the FN button down and press that key with the icon usually the icon is blue on a keyboard and is on the F1-12 buttons or on the numberpad
do a hard reset....remove charger>remove peripherals>remove battery> press and hold the power button for about 30secs, while batt and charger is removed> then plug in the charger only and turn ON!
is the acer still covered by the warranty? you can get it repaired for free if it is, its a common fault with these, my friend over here in finland has one of those and it did the same thing, he got it replaced / fixed for free since it was under warranty. get yours fixed also.
i had a similar problem. this made my netbook start again. turn off your netbook and then remove the battery. then (with the battery still out) slide the power switch into the on-position and hold it there for a minute. then reinsert the battery and turn on your netbook. as soon as it turns on, keep repeatedly pressing the F10 key till you see your screen light up. then login normally and go to the hp site and download the driver for your netbook. i think its under BIOS? hope this helped. sorry if it didnt...
